The monthly meeting of the L.B.J.& C. Head Start Policy Council has been set for Nov. 1, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the L.B.J.& C. Development Corporation, 1150 Chocolate Drive, Cookeville.

United Daughters of the Confederacy - Nov 2, 16

The United Daughters of the Confederacy, Captain Sally Tompkins 2123 will meet Wednesday, November 2, at 12:00 noon in the upper level of the Putnam County Library. Please contact 931-738-5869 if you have a Confederate ancestor or further questions.

Thrift Shop - Nov 2, 16

Walk By Faith Thrift Store will re-open on Nov. 2nd at their new location 8875 Hwy. 111 across from Keith's Leisuretime. Door prizes will be given to the first 15 customers on opening day. New hours will be Sat.-Mon. Closed, Tues. 1-7 p.m. & Wed.-Fri. 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

The Pickett County Board of Education will meet Monday, Nov. 14, 2016 at 6 p.m. in the office of the director of schools. There will be a work session at 5:30 p.m. Comments from the public are welcomed by the Pickett Co. Board of Education.

Pickett County Library will be hosting a Christmas Marketplace Friday afternoon Dec. 2 and Saturday, Dec. 3. This will be a unique shop-ping experience composed of local crafters, merchants and home/party retailers. The Marketplace will take place between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday. If you are interested in being a vendor, call the library 864-6281 to sign up for a booth. Preference will be given to Pickett County residents.
