Gamiel Herbert Storie
March 25, 1934 - March 12, 2011

BYRDSTOWN--Gamiel Herbert Storie, 76 of Pickett Care and Rehab, 129 Hillcrest Dr., Byrdstown, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Pickett Care and Rehab.
He was born March 25, 1934 in Pickett Co. to the late Baxter and Nealie (Rich) Storie and lived most of his life in West Virginia until 2004. Mr. Storie served two years with the U.S. Army and attended Appalachian Bible College in the Fall of 1960 and graduated in the Spring of 1964. It was there he met his wife, Ruth Damhoff. Gamiel and Ruth served many years at Appalachian Bible College taking care of the flowers and landscaping. Mr. Storie returned to Byrdstown in Fall of 2004 and lived at the homeplace until recently when he was a resident at Pickett Care and Rehab. He was a member of Calvary Bible Church and was instrumental in founding and establishing of the Calvary Bible Church. His passion was the Lord, flowers and his family, and Heaven is enjoying his presence.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by a brother-in-law, J.L. Masiongale and niece, Sharon Masiongale.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Damhoff Storie of Byrdstown; three sisters, Allene Masiongale of Byrdstown, Lois Carlton & husband Perry, Lebanon, TN., and Rhonda Leak & husband Phillip of Marrowbone, KY; three brothers, Delbert Storie & wife Cue of Johnson City, TN., Ralph Storie & wife Gladys of Spring City, TN., and Richard Storie & wife Rita in Lebanon, TN. He was also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Calvary Bible Church with Bro. Travis Simpson and Bro. Phillip Leak officiating and burial at Clark Cemetery. Pallbearers included James Storie, Jason Storie, Josh Storie, Mike Laytham, Larry Brown, Bob Storie, Bill Storie and Michael Asberry. Special care provided by Brown Funeral Chapel.
