Velma Lee Smith Shelley
April 1, 1928 - June 10, 2011


ALBANY--Mrs. Velma Lee Smith Shelley, 83, of Albany, Ky., passed away on Friday June 10, 2011 at the Livingston Regional Hospital in Livingston.
She was born in the Lee’s Chapel Ridge Community in Clinton Co., Ky. on Sunday April 1, 1928 the daughter of Paul and Dora Cummings Smith. She was a former employee of Byrd’s Shirt Factory, a homemaker, and a member of Twin Lakes Grace Fellowship Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Shelley, her children, Dennis Shelley, Murl Shelley, and Priscilla Shelley; her sisters, Thelma Crawford, Virgie Shipley, Ruby Wilson, and Helen Lowhorn, her great-grandchildren, Tara Shelley and Annie Shelley.
She is survived by her children, Dorwin (and Judy) Shelley of Byrdstown; Bro. Donnie (and Wyncie) Shelley of Albany; Phyllis (and Dennis) Tschetter of Tuscaloosa, AL; Johnny (and Shirley) Shelley of Albany, Ky.; Nancy (and Reid) Brewington of Burkesville, Ky.; her daughters-in-law, Patricia Shelley and Judy Shelley both of Albany, Ky.; her grandchildren, Jimmy, Rhonda, Jerry, Michael, Jennifer, Amy, Donna, Dana, Shane, Shawn, Christie, Melissa, Matthew, Nathan, Kami and Tracy, her great grandchildren, Tyler, Bobby, Charla, Madison, Isaiah, Priscilla, Ashley, Amber, Joshua, Dakota, Jordan, Brett, Brandon, Caleb, Zachary, Elijah, Holden, Hannah, Jonathan, Jacob, Kristen, Jamison, Courtney, Samantha, Landon, Drayton, Seth, Nicholas, Cambria, Adam, Makayla, Sierra and Brianna, her great-great-grandchildren, Caroline, Keaton, Keeleigh, Tyton, Colton, Lauralei, and Briley.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday June 15, 2011 at the Twin Lakes Grace Fellowship Church in Albany, Ky. with Bro. Randall Polson, Bro. Todd Zike, and Bro. Donnie Shelley officiating. Special music was by Hazel Upchurch, The Braswell Family, Christie Branham, Stephanie Bertram. Pallbearers were Jimmy Shelley, Michael Pierce, Barry Ledbetter, Shane Shelley, Shawn Shelley, Mathew Shelley, and Jerry Shelley. Burial was in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in the Shipley Community of Clinton Co. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Gideon Bibles or the Grace Fellowship Church Building Fund. Jesse Howard Walker
November 2, 1926 - May 4, 2011

MUNCIE-Jesse Howard Walker, 84, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011 at his residence after an extended illness.
He was born Nov. 2, 1926 in Byrdstown, the son of Joe M. and Sarah (Riley) Walker. Jesse retired from the United States Army, serving in Europe in World War II and in Korea.
Survivors include his daughter, Vickie Walker Masiongale husband Roger of Byrdstown; two sons Jesse Walker II wife Sherlie of Algood, TN and Kelly Walker partner Joseph of New York, NY; grandchildren Fallon Winningham husband Ben, Richard "Dax" McGannon, Christy Walker, and Rodney Walker; a sister Ineta Masiongale of Muncie, IN; neices and nephews Linda Masiongale husband Leon, Thelma Masiongale husband Phil, and Ken Masiongale wife Julia all of Muncie.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Emajean (Winningham) Walker in 1993 and a son, Rodney Walker in June 2010.
Services were Monday, May 16th at the Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with Pastor Steve Dugger officiating. Final resting place was at Cope Cemetery in Byrdstown.
