Jack Vincent Smith
July 25, 1937 - October 21, 2011

BYRDSTOWN--Jack Vincent Smith, 74 of 304 Lacy St., Byrdstown passed away Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 at the Livingston Regional Hospital.
He was born July 25, 1937 in Hazard, Ky. to the late Chester and Mary (Smith) Smith. Mr. Smith was a retired a General Motors Employee and lived part of his life in Pickett Co. since 1992. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by brother, L.D. Smith.
Survivors include four daughters; Jacqueline Regina Smith, Baltimore, MD; Jonnie Lynn Smith, Byrdstown; Jana Marie Baker, Grass Lake, MI, Jodie Ann Smith, San Jose, CA; sister, Reva Dunnigan, Milan, MI; brother, Hubert Beech Smith, Middletown, OH; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
The family has chosen cremation with a memorial service to be set at a later date. Special care provided by Brown Funeral Chapel.

Jimmy Randell Cross Sr.
October 5, 1938 - October 20, 2011

HARTFORD CITY – Jimmy Randell Cross Sr., 73, died at 9:26 a.m. Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Integra Specialty Hospital in Muncie.
He was born in Byrdstown, on October 5, 1938 to the late George Elmer Cross and the late Ruby (Lee) Cross.
Jimmy attended Pickett County High School and moved to Blackford County 46 years ago from Byrdstown.
He married Abbie Dee (Presley) Cross on August 1, 1959 in Byrdstown. Jimmy retired from Joyce-Dayton Corp in Portland where he worked maintenance. He was a former coon hunter enjoyed gardening and mowing the neighbor’s lawns.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Abbie Cross of Hartford City; daughters, Jennifer A. (husband, William L.) Seiver of Hawk Point, Missouri; Rhonda J. Cross (fiancé, Kent Ross) of Columbia City, IN; son, Jimmy R. Cross Jr. (fiancé, Christy Light) of Hartford City; grandchildren, Amber N. Schick, Nickolas A. Schick and Jacob A. Cross; great-grandson, Andrew W. Schick; brother, Gary E. Cross of Muncie; sisters, Ina Lois (husband, Jerry) Hudson of Byrdstown; Mary F. (husband, Jackie) Daniels of Monroe; Patty E. Robbins of Monroe; Cassie L. (husband, Bryce) Evans, of Monroe; sister-in-law, Freda S. (Lackey) Cross of Hartford City; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Danny Lowell Cross and George A. Cross.
Funeral service was held October 25, 2011 at Brown Funeral Home. Burial followed at Cross Family Cemetery in Byrdstown.

Robert Merlin Kinzie
August 23, 1924 - October 20, 2011

CROSSVILLE--Robert Merlin Kinzie, 87 of 2063 Iowa Dr., Crossville, TN passed away Thursday, Oct. 20, 2011 at the Cumberland House in Crossville. He was born August 23, 1924 in Ankeny, IA to the late John Willis and Lilly Belle Spainhower Kinzie. He lived most of his life in Indiana and was a truck driver, Veteran of WWII serving in the army and a member of Spartanburg Christian Church.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by infant son; daughter, Lafonda Harding; brother, Melvin Kinzie.
Survivors include wife, Daisy Marie Morrell Kinzie, Crossville; five daughters, Donita Burner, Anoka, MN., Jancey Needham, Lamar, MO., Kathryn Holderbaum, Lynn, IN., Karen Harding, Crossville; Robin Phillips, Albany, Ky.; two sons, Dennis Robert Kinzie, Grand Saline, TX. and Dean Melvin Kinzie, Twin Cities, MN; two sisters, Wilma Gasper, Birmington, WA. and Nell Brown, Albert Lea, MN; brother, Raymond Kinzie, Medso, CA; 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 24, 2011 at Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Rick Cross officiating and burial at Story Cemetery. Pallbearers included Odell Key, Ben Gunter, Michael Harding, Larry Reeder, Tim Theurer and Floyd Whaley. Special care provided by Brown Funeral Chapel.

Pauline Lee Walker
May 31, 1918 - October 17, 2011

LIVINGSTON--Pauline Lee Walker, 93, of Overton Co. Nursing Home in Livingston and a former resident of Sunset Dr. in Byrdstown passed away Monday, Oct. 17, 2011 at the Overton Co. Nursing Home.
She was born May 31, 1918 in Pickett Co. to the late Alvis and Laura Clayborn Lee. Mrs. Walker lived most of her life in Pickett Co. as a homemaker and was a member of the Red Hill Church of Christ. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by husband, Glenn Glenson Walker; three sisters, Dona Evans, Roxie Cope and Vera Lee; four brothers, Homer Lee, Ethridge Lee, Oran Lee and Elmer Lee. Survivors include two sons, Rick Walker of Livingston and Roy Walker & wife, Melody of Byrdstown; four grandchildren, Brandi Walker, Rebecca Walker, Kaysha Sells & husband Graham and Gregory Walker; three great-grandchildren, Gunner, Nicholas and Kayle; very special friend, Margarett Webb. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011 at Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Benny Buck officiating and burial at Edgefield Cememtery. Pallbearers included, Tony Byers, William Alsip, Billy Lee, Cooper Beaty, Wiley Walker, Paul Flowers, Allen Graham and Roger Walker. Special care provided by Brown Funeral Chapel.
