Joyce Chestelean Abbott
April 28, 1933 - November 12, 2011

BYRDSTOWN--Joyce Chestelean Anderson Abbott, 79, of Pickett County Care and Rehab passed away Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011 at the Clinton Co. Hospital.
She was born April 28, 1933 in Fentress County and was the daughter of the late Willie Rita Anderson Kimpton.
Mrs. Abbott was a retired factory employee, homemaker and a member of the Duvall Valley United Baptist Church.
Other than her mother she is preceded in death by husband, Clyde Dewey Abbott and son, Lonnie Abbott.
Survivors include: son, Jack Abbott & wife Flonnie of Albany and daughter-in-law, Barb Abbott of Byrdstown; three sisters, Lois Hensley, Betty LaPointe and Rita Shouse, all of Berea, KY; three grandchildren, Angie Arnett & husband John, Brian Abbott & wife Casey and Chris Abbott & wife Shelly; seven great-grandchildren. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 14, 2011 at Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Tony Bolling and Bro. Howard Buck officiating and burial at Parris-Riley Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brian Abbott, Chris Abbott, Nick Abbott, Bill Hensley, Kenneth Shouse, John Arnett, Mike Williams and Harley Foster.
Special care provided by Brown Funeral Chapel.

Ernest Elmo Jolley
March 2, 1920 - November 11, 2011

NEW CASTLE, IN--Ernest Elmo Jolley, 91 of New Castle passed away Friday, Nov. 11, 2011 at The Waters in New Castle.
He was born March 2, 1920 in Pickett Co. to the late James Hardin and Alba Holt Jolley. Mr. Jolley was married to Martha Ellen Denney on May 28, 1955. He retired from Chrysler Corporation on Dec. 31, 1979 after 32 1/2 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army, member of the UAW Local 371. He also loved to fish and treasure hunt with his metal detector, belonging to the Hoosier Hills Treasure Club.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Martha Ellen Denney; seven brothers, Argo, Thurston, Aaron, Floyd, Lloyd, Walter, and James Philip Jolley; four sisters, Veo Means, Cohen Bowers, Dosha Mae Roberts and one in infancy, Vina.
Survivors include brother Kenneth Jolley, Byrdstown; nephew, James Jolley & wife Judy, Losantville; five nieces, Carolyn Crook & husband Scott, Fayetteville, AR., Janet Divens & husband Larry of Springport, Linda Hall & husband Danny, Crossville; Wanell Harmon & husband Bill of Byrdstown; Sandy Young & husband James, Monroe. Also many cousins, including Wesley Roy "Speck" Holt of New Castle.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral in New Castle with Rev. Gene Bennett officiating and burial at South Mound Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.hinsey-brown.com.

Fred Millard
December 25, 1930 - November 10, 2011

LIVONIA, MI--Frederick Eugene “Fred” Millard, 80, passed away Nov. 10, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Barbara, dear father of Robbin (Lera) Millard, Dawn Lee Millard Sholtz, and Kim Lawrence Millard, grandfather of James Edwin Sholtz, Mary Constance Leona Millard, Justin Eugene Kim Sholtz, and Jaclyn Rae Millard.
He was born Dec. 25, 1930.
A funeral service was held on Monday, Nov. 14th at Ward Presbyterian Church in Northville, MI.

Frank Lawson
June 8, 1936 - November 1, 2011

PALL MALL--Frank Lawson, 75 of 3400 Caney Creek Rd., Pall Mall passed away Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011 at St. Thomas Hospital. He was born June 8, 1936 in Clinton Co., KY to the late Fred and Minda Smith Lawson. Mr. Lawson was a garment machine mechanic.
He is survived by his wife Clarice Jane Upchurch Lawson, Pall Mall; son, Steve Lawson & wife, Joanne of Bowling Green, KY; two daughters, Linda Slaven & husband Rick, Pall Mall and Rebecca Boles & husband Robert Lynn, Portsmouth, RI; sister, Virginia Guffey, Albany, KY; step-brother, Robert Higginbotham, Pall Mall and step-sister, Vivene Cash, Burkesville, KY; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011 at Jennings Funeral Homes Chapel in Jamestown, with Bro. Alan Dixon, Bro. Larry Campbell and Bro. Matt Long officiating and burial at Davidson Cemetery in Pall Mall. Pallbearers included: Wyatt Lawson, Ben Lawson, Jesse Lawson, Jeff Brown, Eddie Pierce, Terry Stinson, Jerry Crabtree and Jim King. Special care provided by Jennings Funeral Homes.
