Bercie Moon
July 1, 1934 - December 2, 2011

BYRDSTOWN--Bercie Marie Brown Moon, 77, 100 Pickett Square Dr., Apt E4, Byrdstown passed away Friday, Dec. 2, 2011 at the Livingston Regional Hospital.
She was born July 1, 1934 in Clinton Co., Ky to the late Joe and Jewel (Brown) Brown. Mrs. Moon was a retired garment factory employee, homemaker, a member of the Moodyville Union Baptist Church and lived most of her life in Pickett County.
Other than her parents she is preceded in death by three children, Donnie, Bedford and Ronnie Moon; four brothers, Harold, Clifton, Jim and Donald Lee Brown; three sisters, Doris Jean Davis, Ruth Bryant and Virginia Brown; father of her children, Howard Moon.
Survivors include three daughters, Sheila Abbott and Susie Moon Foster, both of Byrdstown and Angie moons of Jamestown, TN; three sons, Danny and Lonnie Moon both of Byrdstown and Randy Moon of Paisley, FL; 26 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren. Special family members and friends.
Funeral services held Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011 at Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Arnold Moon and Bro. Jeff Amonett officiating and burial at E.A. Garrett Cemetery. Pallbearers include Seth Moon, Trevor Newberry, Jordan Davis, Gabriel Moon, Matt Moon, James Moon, John Dowdy and Josh Moon. Special care provided by Brown Funeral Chapel.

Billy Hollifield
January 21, 1941 - December 1, 2011

BYRDSTOWN--Billy Mitchell Hollifield, 70, 175 Black Oak Lane, Byrdstown passed away Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011 at his residence.
He was born Jan. 21, 1941 in Rome, GA to J.C. and Lola Oaks Hollifield. He was a chemist working with Industrial Finishes, member of the First Baptist Church in Byrdstown and has lived the past few years in Pickett County. He is preceded by his father J.C. Hollifield.
Survivors include wife of 21 years, Colleen Nolin Hollifield of Byrdstown; daughter, Martha Threadgill and husband Ron of Tampa, FL; two step-daughters, Tina Searcy and Terri Bettinger of Powell, OH; son, William Mitchell Hollifield and wife Lori of Byrdstown: mother, Lola Hollifield of Byrdstown; six grandchildren, Erin Persinger and husband Brent, Christopher Hollifield, Lauren Hollifield, Justin and Jacob Threadgill and Grant Bettinger. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral services were Monday, Dec. 5, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Byrdstown with Bro. Ivan Raley officiating and burial at Smyrna Cemetery. Pallbearers included Don Scott, Ron Steinhour, John Mullins, Josh Hollifield, Chris Hollifield and Jack Hollifield. Special care proved by Brown Funeral Chapel.

Robert Elmer Lee
June 3, 1965 - November 30, 2011

SWEETWATER, TN--Robert Elmer Lee, 46, 1648 Cedar Valley Rd., Sweetwater, TN passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011 at the Livingston Regional Hospital.
He was born June 3, 1965 in Clinton County, Ky. to Freddie Lee and Phyllis Ellison Lee. Mr. Lee lived most of his life in Sweetwater, TN., was a heavy machine worker and of the Baptist faith.
He is preceded death by niece, Emmy Lee Anderson; grandparents, Beulah Ellison Neal, Elmer and Dora Lee; great aunt, Etta Mae Sims.
Survivors include wife, Cynthia Ownby Lee of Sweetwater; three daughters, Veronica Vineyard of Sweetwater, Judy Holmes and April Brown both of Ohio; son, Markem Brown of Sweetwater; father, Freddie Lee of Lenior City, TN; mother Phyllis Lee of Byrdstown; sister, Kim Anderson and husband Eddie; two nieces, Emilee and Elisabeth Anderson all of Pall Mall; two sister-in-laws, Marsha Jones and husband Gene of Rockwood, TN and Paula Hutt and husband Charlie of Loudon, TN; 13 grandchildren. Also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011 at Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Rick Cross and Bro. Randy Tompkins officiating and burial at Poplar Springs Primitive Baptist Cemetery in Kingston, TN. Pallbearers included Jeff Rich, Nicky Rich, Harlan Copeland, Eddie Anderson, Allen Smith and Jason Stockton. Special care provided by Brown Funeral Chapel.

Walter Harris Matheny
November 29, 1927 - November 27, 2011

BYRDSTOWN--Walter Harris Matheny, 83, 1025 Cordell Hull Memorial Dr., Byrdstown, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011.
He was born Nov. 29, 1927 in Pickett County to the late Walter Benton and Dolly Taylor Matheny. He lived most of his life in Pickett County and was a retired machine operator with Chevrolet in Muncie, IN and was a member of the Smyrna Church.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by wife, Tella Mae Neal Matheny; two brothers Morris and Curt Matheny.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Matheny, Lamesa, TX.; Tommy and Roger Matheny both of Muncie, IN; four grandchildren, Michael, Travis and Trenda Matheny and Mandy Pena. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Nov. 30, 2011 at Smyrna Church with Bro. Randy Tompkins officiating and burial at Smyrna Cemetery. Pallbearers included Roger Matheny, Tommy Matheny, Michael Matheny, Steve Pena, William Matheny and Wendel Flowers. Special care provided by Brown Funeral Chapel.
