Bertie Elwanda Johnson
November 30, 1929 - February 27, 2012

BYRDSTOWN--Bertie Elwanda Holt Johnson, 82 of 1049 Cordell Hull Memorial Dr., Byrdstown passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2012 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born Nov. 30, 1929 in Pickett County to the late Alexander and Bertha Sells Holt. Mrs. Johnson lived most of her life in Pickett County. She was a retired grocery store owner and operator and a member of the Bloomington Christian Church.
Other than her parents she is preceded in death by husband, John L. Johnson; son, Donnie Lynn Johnson; three sisters, Modean Phillips, Izetta Holt and Ruby Maupin.
Survivors include daughter, Donella Beaty and son, John David Johnson "Bo" and wife Wanda, all of Byrdstown; three sisters, Claudine Dillon, Colean Cross both of Byrdstown and Dillie Peperides of Pegram, TN; brother, Coolidge Holt of Manchester, TN; two grandchildren, David Beaty and wife Charlotte and Dana Beaty; five great-grandchildren, David Elijah Beaty, Lee Ellen Beaty, Chelsea Beaty, Paige Beaty and John Peter Beaty.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012 at Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Randy Tompkins and Bro. Ricky Cross officiating and burial at Vann's Branch Government Cemetery. Pallbearers included David Beaty, Dana Beaty, Ronnie Dillon, Lynn Smith, Norman Amonett and Jim Cross. Special care provided by Brown Funeral Chapel.

Ben Ford
February 7, 1935 - February 7, 2012


PALL MALL--Ben Edward Ford, 77 of 6759 Cedar Grove Rd., Pall Mall passed away Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012 at the Livingston Regional Hospital.
He was born Feb. 7, 1935 in Pickett County to the late Marshall Tyrus and Cordia Jane Garrett Ford. Mr. Ford was a farmer and a member of the Byrdstown First Baptist Church. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by wife, Bonnie Eldean Masiongale Ford; brother, James "Bugs" Ford; sister, Christeen Masiongale.
Survivors include daughter, Melissa Richardt and husband George of Byrdstown; two sons, Tim Ford and wife, Charlene of Byrdstown & Darren Ford and wife, Victoria of Rickman, TN; five sisters, Margaret Ford, Betty Beaty and husband Bethel, Elizabeth Hill and husband James & Vera Mae Harmon and husband Dale and Kay Abbott, all of Byrdstown; two brothers, Kenneth Dale Ford of Arizona and Shirley "Shird" Ford and wife, Sue Ella of Byrdstown; four grandchildren, Aaron Richardt, Gabriel, Elijah and Caitlyn Ford; Special friend, Helen Shelton. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 10, 2012 at Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Ivan Raley and Bro. Jack Winningham officiating and burial at Edgefield Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kelvin Beaty, Malcolm "Buster" Harmon, James Hammock, Josh Fitzgerald, Joe Fitzgerald and Jeremy Hill. Special care provided by Brown Funeral Chapel.

Hewel Brown
September 10, 1930 - February 5, 2012

PALL MALL--Hewel Brown, 81 of 125 Hewel Brown Rd., Pall Mall, TN passed away Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012 at the Livingston Regional Hospital in Livingston.
He was born Sept. 10, 1930 in New Castle, IN to the late Cashier and Edna Pritchett Brown. Mr. Brown lived most of his life in Pickett County and was a retired Pickett County school teacher and farmer. He attended Smyrna Church, member of Little Crab Masonic Lodge #614, a Shriner, a Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the Army, a Licensed Funeral Director and past Co-Director of the Pickett County Ambulance Service.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by infant sister, Helen Brown and brother, Harold Brown. Survivors include wife, Myrtle Beaty Brown of Pall Mall; daughter, Vanessa Gray & husband, Bill of Albany; son, Gregory Brown and wife, Laura of Pall Mall; sister, Hazel Beaty and brother, Hack Brown both of Jamestown, TN; seven loving grandchildren, Eric, Anthony, Brian and Trevor Brown, Amanda Woody, Steven and Sara Gray. Pride and joy of his life great-granddaughter, McKenzie Brown. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Wed., Feb. 8, 2012 at Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Rick Cross, Bro. Randy Tompkins and Sister Joy Langford officiating and burial at Fairview Cemetery in Fentress Co. Pallbearers included Eric, Anthony, Brian and Trevor Brown, Steven Gray, Donald Woody, Joseph Warden. Honorary pallbearers, Amanda Woody, Sara Gray and McKenzie Brown. Special care provided by Brown Funeral Chapel.

Elizabeth Neal
January 28, 1929 - February 2, 2012

BYRDSTOWN--Elizabeth Rose Wilson Neal, 83 of 1013 Honeysuckle Ln., Byrdstown passed away Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012 at the Livingston Regional Hospital.
She was born Jan. 28, 1929 in Burnside, Ky. to the late Killis and Bonnie Hall Wilson. Mrs. Neal lived most of her life in Pickett County and was a homemaker and member of the Red Hill Church of Christ.
Other than her parents she is preceded in death by husband, Herlen Neal; daughter, Rita Joe Neal; two sisters Dorothy Hilton and Joyce Wilson.
Survivors include six daughters, Linda Bell of Monticello, Ky., Carolyn Pharris and Sandy Melton both of Byrdstown; Marchelle Dobbs of Burkbunett, TX., Judy Nowak of Wichita Falls, TX and Lynn Miller of Burkesville, KY; seven sons, Paul Neal and Ronnie Neal both of Westmoreland, TN., Larry Neal of New Castle, IN., Sammy Neal of Lafayette, TN., Lonnie Neal and Kelly Neal, both of Sparta, TN and Max Neal of Cookeville; two sisters, Pat Watkins of Anderson, IN and Jean Gorman of New Castle, IN; two brothers, Carl Wilson of Albany and Edward Wilson of Muncie, IN; 28 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012 at Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Robert Boles officiating and burial Smyrna Cemetery. Pallbearers were, Allan Neal, Chris Dobbs, John Moles, Justin Neal, John Neal, David Melton, Paul Nowak, Jody Nowak and Jim Neal. Special care provided by Brown Funeral Chapel.
