Peter Sigwald Newman
December 30, 1940 - July 26, 2012

BYRDSTOWN--Peter Sigwald Newman, 71 of Hulda Point Rd. passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012 at his residence.
He was born Dec. 30, 1940 in Chicago, Ill. to the late Sigwald A. and Helena M. Kajdas Newman and lived most of his life in Chicago and the past 12 years in Byrdstown. Mr. Newman was a retired Chicago Policeman.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by sister, Maryann Ruggiero and brother Donald A. Newman. Survivors include wife, Anita J. McCarthy Newman of Byrdstown; two daughters, Kathleen M. Yamashiroya (Eliot) and Karen J. Esparza (Juvenal); three sons, Peter A. Newman (Joseph L. Ortiz), Timothy S. Newman (Kellie P.) and Andrew J. Newman (Sandy L.); sister, Shirley H. Hansen all of Chicago, Ill; seven grandchildren. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
The family has chosen cremation with a memorial service to be set at a later date. Special care provided by Brown Funeral Chapel.

Bro. Thomas Gobert Jones
December 22, 1943 - July 22, 2012

BYRDSTOWN--Thomas Gobert Jones, 68 of 8 Huddleston Court passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born December 22, 1943 in Pickett County to the late Thomas Austin and Dillie Myrtie Sells Jones. Bro. Jones lived most of his life in Pickett County and was a Minister at the Fairview Church and a carpenter.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by brother James Lowell Jones.
Survivors include his wife Cleta (Jones) Jones of Byrdstown; three daughters, Nena Simmons & husband David of Bowling Green, KY., Carolyn Hammock & special friend Randy Upchurch and Sandy Winningham & special friend Joey Cook, all of Byrdstown; sister Opal Graham & husband Bob, Tipton, IN; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Rick Cross and Bro. J.B. Stinson officiating and burial at Smyrna Cemetery. Pallbearers were Darrell Huddleston, Calvin Stearns, David Key, Shane Huddleston, Wayne Huddleston and Billy Stinson. Special care provided by Brown Funeral Chapel.

Bill Rayle
December 20, 1932 - July 10, 2012

LAFAYETTE, GA--William Leon "Bill" Rayle, 79 of Lafayette, Ga. and a former resident of Byrdstown passed away July 11, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 20, 1932 in Washington, D.C. to the late Edward and Essie Rayle. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Betty Lee Clevenger Rayle and son James Rayle, Sr. Mr. Rayle is survived by three children, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home in Maryland.
