Everett Hoyle Asberry
July 17, 1921 - September 26, 2012

BYRDSTOWN--Everett Hoyle Asberry, 91, North Main St., Byrdstown passed away Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012 at his residence.
He was born July 17, 1921 in Albany to the late Charlie and Mollie Stockton Asberry. Mr. Asberry was a member of the First Christian Church in Byrdstown, a Veteran of W.W.II serving in the Army, retired farmer and past Pickett County Executive.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Genevee Asberry; brother, Howard Asberry; sister, Mildred Mandich. Survivors include son, Barry Hoyle Asberry, Byrdstown; three grandchildren, Lisa Asberry of Knoxville, Austin and Victoria Asberry; sister-in-law, Clementine Asberry; special friends, Malcolm and Debbie Brannum all of Byrdstown. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends and his favorite dog Missy.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. John Stone officiating and burial at Maupin Cemetery. Pallbearers were Hull-York DAV Chapter 5 Honor Guard. Special care provided by Brown Funeral Chapel.

Stella Grace Byrd Garrett
April 12, 1930 - September 24, 2012

MONROE--Stella Grace Byrd Garrett, 82, Oak Grove Rd., Monroe passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2012 at Masters Health Care Center in Algood.
She was born April 12, 1930 in Pickett County to the late James Allen and Fannie Pearl Amonette Byrd. Mrs. Garrett was member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, a school cook, factory worker and homemaker and lived all her life in Pickett County.
Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her husband John Beldon Garret; son, Johnny Wayne Garrett; son-in-law, John Cobble; four sisters, Ordean Wright, Della Lee, Velma Watts and Viola Byrd; two brothers, William and James Byrd.
Survivors include three daughters, Dimple Geesling and husband Larry of Hilham, Darlene Cobble and friend Gary Nicholas and Elaine Winningham, all of Monroe; two sisters, Wanda Lee of Monroe and Louise Masiongale of New Carlisle, OH; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Also survived by nieces, nephews other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012 at Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Rick Cross and Bro. Jeff Flowers officiating and burial at Little Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bobby Lee, James Smith, Lonnie Garrett, Darrell Garrett, Jerry Paul Flowers, Johnny Byrd and Brandon Geesling. Special care provided by Brown Funeral Home.
