Harold “Barney” Holt
January 10, 1940 - July 4, 2008

ATLANTA--Harold “Barney” Holt, age 68, passed away July 4, 2008 at Atlanta Hospice.
Barney was born in Byrdstown, Jan. 10, 1940 to Lloyd and Elsie Holt. He attended Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville; Kennesaw State University in Marietta, Ga.; completed a four year course, Education for Ministry at University of the South in Sewa-nee, Tn.; and served in active duty in the United States Air Force for four years. Mr. Holt was active with the Episcopal Church of St Peter and St Paul serving on the Vestry and as Education for Ministry Mentor. After 35 years with Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, he retired in 1998 as Sales Mana-ger. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd “Barney” Holt.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Carolyn Holt, Marietta, GA; his mother, Elsie Holt, Cookeville; three brothers, Gary Holt, Marietta, GA; Gregory Holt, Cookeville; Morris Glen Holt, Crossville; four nieces and two nephews.
A memorial service honoring the life of Barney Holt was held July 8 at 10 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, 1795 Johnson Ferry Rd, Marietta, GA.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: Episcopal Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, Building Fund, 1795 Johnson Ferry Rd., Marietta, GA 30062.
