Leonard Alexander Jameson
March 1, 1943 - January 25, 2013

BYRDSTOWN--Leonard Alexander Jameson, 69, 275 Shamrock Lane, Byrdstown passed away Friday, January 25, 2013 at his residence.
He was born March 1, 1943 in Washington, D.C. to the late Leonard Alexander and Elizabeth McDermott Jameson, Sr. Mr. Jameson was a computer systems analyst with the state department, member of the Emanuel Catholic Church in Albany, KY., an avid golfer and has lived the past 16 years in Pickett County.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia "Patsy" Clevenger Jameson of Byrdstown; daughter, Karen White, Brandywine, MD; two sons, Ron Jameson of Mechanicsville, MD. and Paul Jameson of Hollywood, MD; three sisters, Donna Conway, Cape Coral, FL., Debbie Herbert, Dunkirk, MD. and Gayle Clare Providence, RI; eight grandchildren. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bryantown, MD with cremation to follow.

Jessie Helen Reagan Smelcer,
November 29, 1915 - January 23, 2013

BYRDSTOWN--Mrs. Jessie Helen Reagan Smelcer, 97, 1526 Livingston Hwy., Byrdstown passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the Livingston Regional Hospital. She was born Nov. 29, 1915 in Forbus, TN. to the late Uin and Vinnie Riley Reagan.
Mrs. Smelcer was a retired employee with General Motors in New Castle, IN., a member of the first established First United Methodist Church in Byrdstown, graduated from New Castle High School, a member of the White Cross Sorority in New Castle, IN., and a member of the Murat Shrine Temple Ladies Auxillary. She lived the past several years in Pickett County. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Otto Smelcer; sister, Helen Hodgins and brother Warren Reagan.
Survivors include daughter, Patricia Upchurch Flowers of Byrdstown; three grandchildren, Steve, Jeff and Greg Flowers; 10 great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren. The family has chosen cremation with a memorial service to be set at a later date. Special care provided by Brown Funeral Chapel.

Willard Hill
January 19, 1920 - January 18, 2013

BYRDSTOWN--Willard Bates Hill, 92, 2128 Moodyville Rd., Byrdstown passed away Friday, January 18, 2013 at Byrdstown Medical Center.
He was born January 19, 1920 in Pickett County to the late Grover and Pansy Moody Hill. Mr. Hill was a retired Pickett County school teacher with 36 years of service as a educator, a farmer. He was a member of the Moodyville Missionary Baptist Church, a member of the Byrdstown Masonic Lodge #496 and a Veteran of W.W. II serving in the Army-Air Force. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include his wife, June ClarHill ; daughter, Joan Hill Clark and husband, Jimmie all of Byrdstown; son, Gary Willard Hill and wife, Debbie of Moses Lake, WA; brother, Thomas Hill and wife Helen of Dayton, OH; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-child. Also survived by five brother-in-laws, several nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Rick Cross, Bro. Jeff Amonett and Bro. Royce Huddleston officiating and burial at Mt. Era Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tommy Hill, John Clark, Scott Horner, Dr. Roger Riley, Layne Clark and Talen Hill. Special care provided by Brown Funeral Chapel.
