Joseph William "Bill" Rich,
September 23, 1930 - February 14, 2013

BYRDSTOWN--Joseph William "Bill" Rich, 82, of Livingston Hwy., Byrdstown passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013 at his residence.
He was born Sept. 23, 1930 in Pickett County to the late Oren and Hattie Riley Rich. Mr. Rich lived most of his life in Byrdstown and was a retired sawmill owner and operator. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church and Veteran of Korean War serving in the Army. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one brother Ralph Rich.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Brown Rich; daughter, Dianna Matheny and husband Ronnie all of Byrdstown; four sisters, Ivell Hughes of Bloomington IN., Irene Powell of Jamestown, TN., Lillian Wright and husband Leon and Thelma Cummings and husband Gene, all of Murfreesboro, TN; two brothers, Daniel Rich and wife Joyce of Monroe and David Rich and wife, Pat of Byrdstown; two grandchildren, Pyretta Elder and husband Jason and William Matheny; two great-grandchildren, Malli and Camyrn Elder. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 16, 2013 at First Baptist Church in Byrdstown with Bro. Jack Winningham, Bro. Jeff Amonett and Bro. Ivan Raley officiating and burial at Smyrna Cemetery. Active pallbearers were William Matheny, Jason Elder, Jeff Rich, Nicky Rich, Wendel Flowers and Todd Walls. Honorary pallbearers were Bob Mullins, Jerry Kinchen, Ray Rains, Jack Whittenburg, Ron Steinhour, Butch Smith, Gary King, Robin Cummings and Dr. Larry Mason. Special care provided by Brown Funeral Chapel.

Bonzie Alline Garrett Smith
March 21, 1934 - February 11, 2013

BYRDSTOWN--Bonzie Alline Garrett Smith, 78 of Pickett Care and Rehab and former resident of Oak St., Byrdstown passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 at Pickett Care and Rehab.
She was born March 21, 1934 in Pickett County to the late Charlie Pleas and Lillie Jane Flowers Garrett. Ms.Smith was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church of Byrdstown. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by two sisters, Nancy West and Fonzie Lee Garrett; brother Norman Lonnie Garrett.
Survivors include two sons, Timmy Wayne and Johnny Levi Smith both of Byrdstown; two sisters, Oradean Crabtree and husband Ben of Byrdstown and Claudia Smith of Louisville, KY; two grandchildren, Brianna Aleshia Gregory and Adam Levi Smith. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral services were Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Rick Cross and Bro. Ivan Raley officiating and burial at Smyrna Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert Mitchell, Bud Mitchell, Wendel Flowers, Jeff Flowers, William Matheny and Mike Smith. Special care provided by Brown Funeral Chapel.
