Hugh Elder
September 13, 1923 - March 28, 2013

LIVINGSTON--Hugh Elder, 89, of Livingston, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2013 at his home.
He was born Sept. 13, 1923 in Pickett County to the late Louis and Margaret Phillips Elder. Mr. Elder worked with Goodyear Tire in Akron, OH. and was a dairy farmer. He was a member, Deacon, Elder and Trustee of First Christian Church, member of Livingston Masonic Lodge #259, former Director of Overton Co. Coop and former President of the Overton Co. Farm Bureau. Mr. Elder and his wife Doris Bertram Elder celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on March 13th.
Other than his wife he is survived by his son, Mike Elder and wife Carolyn, Livingston; grandsons, Mike Elder Jr. & wife Myra and Charles Elder & wife Jennifer; great-children, Griffin, Lilly and Kira Elder.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 30, 2013 at First Christian Church, Livingston with Rev. Dee Wells, Rev. Sunny Ridings and Dr. David Moore officiating and burial at Vans Branch Cemetery. Pallbearers included Jim Evans, John Mark Windle, Alan Gibson, Allen Ray, Fred Amonett and Larry Misenhimer. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church Building fund. Speck Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Doris Emma Jean Moles Burden
May 2, 1945 - March 28, 2013

BYRDSTOWN--Doris Emma Jean Moles Burden, 67, of Byrdstown passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Livingston Regional Hospital. She was born May 2, 1945 to the late Delmer and Cora Dolly Manis Moles.
Other than her parents she is preceded in death by husband William H. Burden; son, Arnold Burden; brother, Jack Moles; sisters, Nell Bell and Aleta Moles; nephews, Roger and Ricky Mullins.
Survivors include one brother Powell Moles; one sister, Bessie Nicholas, uncle, Thurman Moles; special nephew, Patrick Garrett; special niece, Michelle Guffey; special friend, Betty Bowden. Also survived by several nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Mundy Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Cross officiating and burial at Reedertown Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robbie Moles, Jimmy Moles, Curt Walker, David Dowdy, John Dowdy and Patrick Garrett. Mundy Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Arlon Nicholas
June 24, 1937 - March 25, 2013

BYRDSTOWN--Arlon Nicholas, 75 of Byrdstown passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Livingston Regional Hospital.
He was born June 24, 1937 to the late Joe and Bercelia Poore Nicholas. Mr. Nicholas was a Veteran of the National Guard and worked at the Pickett Co. Hwy. Dept. from 1986 until retirement in 2006.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by sisters, Sarah Cooper, Delina Gaither and Edith Smith; brothers, Virgil, Paul, Roosevelt and Holden Nicholas.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie Moles Nicholas; one sister, Christine Medley; two brothers, Amos Nicholas and wife Isabella and Noble Nicholas and wife Edith; sister-in-laws, Yvonne Nicholas and Emma Burden; brothers-in-laws, Powell Moles and Walter Gaither; special friend, Jerry Franklin. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Funeral services were held Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Moodyville Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Rick Cross and Bro. Royce Huddleston officiating and burial at Story Cemetery. Pallbearers were George Nicholas, Jackie Gaither, Jerry Franklin, James Amos Martin, Jimmy Nicholas and Jim Thompson.
Mundy Funeral Home in Jamestown, TN was in charge of arrangements.

Jimmie Stanley
August 19, 1942 - March 24, 2013

BYRDSTOWN--Jimmie Stanley, 70 of Fire Tower Lane, Byrdstown passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Cumberland House in Crossville.
He was born Aug. 19, 1942 in Oneida, TN. to the late Thomas and Travannia Acres Stanley. Mr. Stanley was a retired factory employee that manufactured transformers and a Veteran serving in the Army from 1964-1966. He lived most of his life in Indiana and lived in Pickett County since 2005.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by a brother J.C. Stanley and a sister, Mary Ann Brewster.
Survivors include his wife Roxie Clark Stanley; son, James Stanley and wife Megan, of Fishers, IN; one sister, Alice Welch of Onieda. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, two sisters-in-law, six brothers-in-law, other family members and friends. The family has chosen cremation with a memorial service to be held Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. from Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Henry Colbert and Bro. Benny Hackler officiating. Special care provided by Brown Funeral Chapel.

Linda L. Reagan Delaney
December 17, 1938 - March 24, 2013

MUNCIE, IN--Linda L. Reagan Delaney, 74, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2013 at Ball State Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN. She was born Dec. 17, 1938 to the late J.W. and Dona Jones Reagan of Byrdstown. Mrs. Delaney lived most of her life in Muncie, IN. and loved to fish.
Other than her parents she is preceded in death by six brothers, Grady, Verdean, Charlie, Norman, Halton (Sie) and Tommy Reagan; two sisters, Ida Bilbrey and Ruth Pierce. Survivors include two sons, Terry Delaney and wife Teressa of Muncie, IN. and Jerry Delaney of Gaston, IN; grandson Chris Delaney, Muncie, IN; sister, Faye Todd of Yorktown, IN; brother, David Reagan of Byrdstown; sisters-in-law, Doretta Reagan and Patsy Lee; 14 nieces and nephews. Also survived by a host of family and friends. Attending from Byrdstown was Steve Reagan, Jimmy Reagan, Doretta Reagan and Mitize Stidman.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastor Rusty Clements officiating and burial at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, IN. Pallbearers included Steve Reagan, Jimmy Reagan, Carl Story, Sam Pierce, Chuck Lutrell and Mark Hill.
