March 23, 1940 - September 19, 2013

BYRDSTOWN--Lloyd D. Key, 73, Cordell Hull Memorial Dr. Byrdstown passed away Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013 at Livingston Regional Hospital.
He was born March 23, 1940 in Clay Co., TN to the late Elmer and Lovie Daniels Key. Mr. Key was a member of the Red Hill Church of Christ, worked in lawn maintenance, was a past sawmill employee and lived most of his life in Pickett Co.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one sister, Mabel Hamlet and two brothers, George and Tommy Key.
Survivors include his wife, Selma Joyce Keen Key; daughter, Shelia Lowhorn and husband Vic; son, David Key and wife Denise, all of Byrdstown; five grandchildren, Tiffany Norris (Brandon), Dustin Lowhorn (Danielle Riddle), Ben, Evan (Kelli Dillon) and Sawyer Key. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013 at Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Henry Colbert, Bro. Benny Hackler and Bro. Bruce Mullinix officiating and burial at Vann's Branch Cemetery. Pallbearers were Nelson Keen, Jason Keen, Randy Reagan, Ernie Guffey, Jeff Rich and Stephen Bilbrey. Special care provided by Brown Funeral Home.

William Ben York
September 1, 1947 - September 18, 2013

BYRDSTOWN--William Ben York, 66, Pendergrass Dr., Byrdstown passed away Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 at St. Thomas Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN.
He was born Sept. 1, 1947 in Albany, KY. to the late William Homer and Gladys Marie Stearns York. Mr. York was a member of the Red Hill Church of Christ, a truck driver and lived most of his life in Pickett Co. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Sue Beaty York and sister, Minnie Pearl York.
Survivors include daughter, Melinda York VanMeter and husband Joe of Bradyville, TN; son, Robby York and wife Michelle of Duncan, OK; two sisters, Doris Jones and Dot McClellan both of Albany, KY; three brothers, Larry York of Byrdstown, Jimmy York of Columbia, KY and Jerry York of Albany, KY; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren. Also survived nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013 at Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jimmy York officiating and burial at Red Hill Church of Christ Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chris York, Steve York, Jason York, Brian York, David McClellan and Roger Huddleston.

Thomas Gale Vaughn
June 14, 1940 - September 16, 2013

BYRDSTOWN--Thomas Gale Vaughn, 73, born Flag Day June 14, 1940 moved on to his brothers and sister in heaven on Monday, Sept. 16. He was the son of John and Lena (Bingham) Vaughn, Pineville, KY. Thomas was the youngest of 5 children and was preceded in death by Delmar, Maxine Faulkner, Teddy Ray and Norman.
Thomas was a medic in the Navy from 1958-62 and was a member of the first graduating class EENT (Ear, Eye, Nose and Throat Technician). He was a machinist and quality inspector at Dana Corp in Lima, Ohio. Upon retiring in 1999 he and his wife, Faye (Freeman) Vaughn moved to Dale Hollow Lake, where they had vacationed for nearly 25 years where he loved to fish and golf.
They have two sons, Terry Vaughn and wife Kendra formerly Louisville, now Dale Hollow Lake and Todd Vaughn Lima Ohio. They have 5 grand kids – Lynn, Samantha, Kyle, Jordan and Courtney and 3 great-grand kids – Trevor, Carson and Addison.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers and gifts please make a donation to the Thomas Vaughn Remembrance Athletic Fund for Pickett County K-8 School, 1016 Woodlawn Dr., Byrdstown, TN 38549.
