John Richard Lee
May 3, 1929 - January 14, 2014

John Richard Lee, 84 of 3056 Lee Lane, Byrdstown passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 3, 1929 in Pickett Co. to the late Omer and Bessie Booher Lee. Mr. Lee was a landscaper, retired garment factory employee, a member of the Moodyville Missionary Baptist Church and a Veteran of the Korean War serving in the Army.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Hue and Jimmy Lee; sister, Betty Mae Flowers; two brothers-in-law, Bob Manis and Roy Flowers.
Survivors include wife, Betty Wood Lee; daughter, Brenda Thompson and husband Mike; three sons, Johnny Lee and wife Kim, Charlie Lee and wife Belinda all of Byrdstown and Jim Glass and wife Kim of Crossville, TN; three sisters, Faye Manis and Barbara Bilbrey and husband Joe all of Byrdstown and Wyncie Shelley and husband Donnie of Albany, KY; two brothers, Demer Lee and wife Betty of Douglas, GA. and Sam Lee and wife Peggy of Muncie, IN; sister-in-law, Juanita Lee of Byrdstown; eight grandchildren, Michael Glass, Casey Dees, Jonathan Lee (Brittney), Jeremy Lee (Kendra), Kara Lee and fiance (Joe Pritchard), Molly and Tyler Thompson, Jameson Glass; five great-grandchildren Jayden Lee, John Howard Lee, Raylen Pritchard, Cody and Autumn Glass. Also survived by nieces, nephews and other family members.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 16, 2014 with Bro. Royce Huddleston and Bro. Donnie Shelley officiating and burial at Parris-Riley Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jonathan Lee, Jeremy Lee, Cody Glass, Michael Glass, Jameson Glass and Joe Pritchard. Special care provided by Brown Funeral Chapel.

Linda Booher
August 7, 1945 - January 11, 2014

Linda Kay Pryor Booher, 68, 115 Hillcrest Dr. Apt.#9, Byrdstown passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014 at her residence.
She was born August 7, 1945 in Pickett Co. to the late Webster and Bulah Dowdy Pryor. Mrs. Booher was a homemaker and lived most of her life in Pickett Co.
Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Delmer "Craft" Booher; one sister, Ann Brubaker; six brothers, Gene, Paul, Hollis, Frank "Butch", Jackie and Bobby Pryor; two granddaughters, Brooklyn and Rilyn Savage.
Survivors include her two daughters Lisa Lara and husband Mark of Montegomery, Ill. and Shelley Ricker and husband Holland of Marysville, WA; son, Terry Savage and wife Kari of Oswego, Ill; sister, Gaylon Nicholas of Byrdstown; three brothers, Watson Pryor and Wayne Pryor of Byrdstown and Gary Pryor of Albany, Ky; four grandchildren, Zacary and Madelyn Savage, Jenna O'Malley and Mark Lara; one great-grandchild, Ava Hogg. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 17, 2014 at Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Rick Cross officiating and burial at Story Cemetery. Pallbearers were Holland Ricker, Mark Lara, Randy Pryor, Zacary Savage, Tim Pryor and Jared Pryor. Special care provided by Brown Funeral Chapel.

Sandra K. Cope
September 19, 1946 - January 7, 2014

Sandra K. Cope, 67, Byrdstown, and formerly of Orrville, Ohio went to be with the Lord Jan. 7th, 2014 at Kindred Hospital Nashville Tenn. after a sudden decline in health.
Sandy was born on Sept. 19, 1946 in Orrville, Ohio to the late Thomas and Ruby (Mast) Abel. She married Virgil (Jr.) Cope on May 7, 1994 in Byrdstown. She graduated from Orrville High School Class of 1964. She worked as a clerk in her parents grocery stores; Abels IGA, Abels Meat Market, and Hawkins Grocery in Orrville, Ohio. Later in life she found joy in being a nanny for 10 years. She then retired, and with her “Honey”. Jr. Cope they moved from Ohio to Byrdstown. She loved children and spending time with her family. She continued to find joy in the births of her great grandchildren. Excited for any opportunity to see and visit with them. Her home was open to all. Every season her home was adorn with the colors, candies, cookies, and other baked goods of the particular season or holiday. She loved to cook and bake, and we loved to eat it. Her love for cooking fueled her collecting of cookbooks. She was loved by all who knew her. Whether by birth or marriage she was Mom, and Grandma. She loved animals. When she found a litter of abandoned pups, she took them home. With help from the Paws rescue group, she cared for those pups and fell in love with them all. She kept one of the pups, Daisy. Later on she acquired another dog, Lexi. Both her babies (Daisy and Lexi) will miss their mama.
She is survived by her husband, Virgil (Jr.) Cope of Byrdstown, her sons Donald (Dawn) Johnston, Darin (Trina) Johnston, Darin (Anne) Johnston, Craig (Janna) Cope, Ronald Kevin (Glynis Carpenter) Cope, and daughter (Melissa (James) Walsh; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and Brother Mark (Sandy 2 Lapmarado) Abel all of Ohio.
Entombment was in Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Wooster, Ohio on Jan. 10th, 2014. A memorial service will be at Wolf River United Baptist Church Jan. 25th at 1 p.m. A time of visiting and refreshments will follow the service. Pastor Rick Cross officiating.
