Doris Justine Storie Ramsey
July 2, 1927 - February 14, 2014
COOKEVILLE- Funeral services for Doris Justine Storie Ramsey, 86, of Cookeville were held Friday, February 14, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Hutchinson officiated. Interment followed in Overton County Memorial Gardens in Livingston.
Doris passed away on Monday morning, February 10, 2014 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation-Masters in Algood.
She was born July 2, 1927 in Moodyville, TN in Pickett Co. to the late Clinton Johnnie and Delma Raines Storie.
Doris was a member of Cookeville First Baptist Church.
She made many friends at Morningside Assisted Living, Cedar Hills Assisted Living and Kindred Transitional Care and Rehab-Masters. She crocheted many blankets for the Crisis Pregnancy Center of Cookeville and scarves for many others.
Her family includes an only daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Richard Thornton of Cookeville; two grandsons, Reed Ramsey Thornton and wife, Christy of Mt. Juliet, TN and Richard Tate Thornton, JR of Cookeville; three great-grandchildren, Reed’s daughters, Hollie, Brittany, and Chloe; a brother, Cyril Storie of Cookeville; and sister, Rose Hill of Dayton, OH.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
Her daughter wishes to thank the staff at Masters Health Care and Dr. Kathy Bertram for their loving support. She also especially thanks Cookeville First Baptist Church for their years of prayers, cards, and visits.

Renate Elfrieda Waldhauser Chilton
November 25, 1950 - February 10, 2014
BYRDSTOWN--Renate Elfrieda Waldhauser Chilton, 63, of Hassler Ln., Byrdstown passed away Monday, Feb. 10, 2014 at Livingston Regional Hospital.
She was born Nov. 25, 1950 in Schweinfurt, Germany to the late Eric and Margarita Waldhauser. Mrs. Chilton was a past garment factory employee and lived most of her life in Pickett County.
Survivors are her husband, John W.Chilton and daughter, Kirsten Chilton both of Byrdstown; son, Daniel Chilton and wife Tara of Albany; four grandchildren, Trevor, Delaney, Paisley and Kobey Chilton.
The family has chosen cremation with no memorial service planned at this time. Special care provided by Brown Funeral Chapel.
Cletis Hensley, Jr.
January 15, 1946 - January 7, 2014
CROSSVILLE--Cletis Hensley, Jr., 67 of Crossville passd away January 7, 2014 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 15, 1946 in Byrdstown to the late Cletis Ray, Sr. and Creola Moles Hensley. Mr. Hensley was a hardworking man who worked many years at J&K Sheet Metal and was a mill worker at Rose's Sawmill. He was also a devoted member of Lawerence Chapel Church of God of Prophecy where he was loved by everyone.
Other than his parents he is preceded in death by sister, Linda Howard; brothers-in-law, Tommy Howard and Dan Brookhart.
Survivors include his wife, Stella Hensley of Crossville; two daughters, Teresa Smith and husband Jerry of Crossville and Tammie Logan and husband Richard of Cookeville; son, Tracy Hale and friend Angie of Crossville; three sisters, Ledell Woody and husband Kenneth of Crossville, Urell Brookhart of Union, OH. and Sue Hammond of Smyrna; special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jackie and Wallace Beaty of Byrdstown; eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were held January 9, 2014 at Hood Funeral Home with Bro. Billy Nelson and Bro. Don Gulledge officiating and burial at Tom Garrett Cemetery. Hood Funeral Home were in charge of arrangements.
