Anna Ruth (Whitehead) Garrett
November 15, 1944 - October 21, 2008

BYRDSTOWN--Anna Ruth (Whitehead) Garrett, 63, 3430 Red Hill Rd., Byrdstown, passed away Oct. 21, 2008 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tn. She was a homemaker.
She was born Nov. 15, 1944 in Wayne County, Ky., the daughter of General Whitehead and Marie (Daniels) Whitehead. She lived most her life in Pickett County and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Bobby Whitehead and one half sister.
Surviving relatives include husband, J.T. Garrett, Byrdstown; daughter, Barbara Dishman, Monticello, Ky.; son, Dallas Garrett, Byrdstown; brother, Lloyd Whitehead Abbott, Monticello, Ky.; six grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Oct. 24, at 2 p.m. from Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Randy Tompkins and Bro. Johnny Davis officiating. Burial was at Garrett Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tony and Timmy Walker, Bo Winningham, Brandon Koger, Nickey Rich and Danny Crouch. Special care was provided by Brown Funeral Chapel of Byrdstown.

Lafonda Lea (Kinzie) Harding
July 2, 1959 - October 20, 2008

BYRDSTOWN-- Lafonda Lea (Kinzie) Harding, 49, 706 Shady Lane, Byrdstown, passed away Oct. 20, 2008 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a surgeon technician with Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
She was born July 2, 1959 in Atlanta, Ga., and lived most of her life in Pickett County. She was a member of the Wolf River United Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Wood; grandparents, Robert and Orapinina Morrell; father-in-law and mother-in-law Elmer and Ellen Harding; sister-in-law, Faye Reeder; two brothers-in-law Keith Harding and Cee Reeder.
Surviving relatives include husband, Mike Harding, Byrdstown; son, David Harding, Cookeville; parents, Robert and Daisy (Morrell) Kinzie, Crossville; five sisters, Karen Harding (Roger), Crossville; Robin Phillips (Tommy), Albany, Ky.; Kathy Holderbaum, Lynn, In.; Jancy Hand, Las Vegas, Nv.; Donita Burner, Huntsville, Al.; two brothers, Dennis Kinzie (Jordara), Willis Point, Tx.; Dean Kinzie, Minneapolis, Mn.; three sisters-in-law, Linda Rich (Pete), Pall Mall; Linda Harding and Dean Reeder, Byrdstown; brother-in-law, Ward Reeder, Byrdstown, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Oct. 22, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Wolf River United Baptist Church with Bro. Ricky Cross officiating. Burial was at Story Cemetery. Pallbearers were Les Reeder, Pete Rich, Robert Reeder, Michael Harding, Larry Reeder and Don Scarough. Special care was provided by Brown Funeral Chapel, Byrdstown.

Barbara Ruth Crowley Madruga
February 21, 1958 - October 17, 2008

ORLANDO, FL-- Barbara Ruth Crowley Madruga departed this life Friday, October 17, 2008, and entered her eternal life full of Grace and the Love of God, who was at her side and led her through her final journey.
Barb made friends from around the world at her wedding chapel in Orlando, Fl. Her vivacious and happy spirit spread to all that knew her. She loved life and laughter; just to hear her name would bring a smile. Barb’s message to those who met her was the importance of love and family.
Barb is survived by her husband Jay Michael Madruga; daughters, Heidi Parker and Liesl Johnson and son-in-law Chad Johnson, parents Jim and Christine Crowley of Kingsport; sisters Carol Bowling and brother-in-law Adam Bowling, Diane Hanson and brother-in-0law Doug Hanson, niece Holly Tunkel and nephews Stuart and Daniel Bowling. She is also survived by loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her brother David Michael Crowley, grandparents Hobert and Addie Taylor, Alfonso and Mabel Crowley. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations in Barb’s name to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, PO Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210-4486.
Funeral services were held Oct. 23, at 10 a.m. from Byrdstown First Baptist Church with Dr. Gerald Stow and Dr. Ivan Raley officiating. Burial was at Smyrna Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kevin Madruga, Doug Hanson, Stuart Craver, Ben Clements, Chad Johnson and Adam Bowling. Special care was provided by Brown Funeral Chapel, Byrdstown.

Dorothy Dorene (Rhule) Smith
January 17, 1940 - October 12, 2008

MONTEBELLO, CA--Dorothy Dorene (Rhule) Smith, 68, 1635 Neal Armstrong #109, Montebello, Ca., and formerly of Pickett County, passed away Oct. 12, 2008 at Gordon Lane Care Center in Fullerton, Ca. She was a factory employee and a seamstress.
She was born Jan. 17, 1940 in Byrdstown, the daughter of the late Robert Benton Rhule and Illa Lucille (Gunter) Rhule. She lived the past 42 years in California and was a member of the Saddleback Baptist Church in Lake Forrest, Ca.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gene Paul Smith, and brother, Donnie Rhule.
Surviving relatives include: daughter, Teresa Williams and husband, Rod, Visalia, Ca.; two grandchildren Cullin and Breanna Williams, Visalia, Ca.; two sisters, Margrett Craig and Velma Pittman and husband Buster, all of Albany, Ky.; three brothers: Larry Rhule and wife, Melissa, Byrdstown; Clyde Rhule and wife, Betty, Rickman; Randall Rhule and wife Dean, Cookeville; nieces, nephews other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Oct. 18, at 1 p.m. from Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Johnny Craig officiating. Burial was at Edgefield Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Joey, Ricky, Bryan and Chad Rhule, Ryan Carlile and Roger Pittman. Special care was provided by Brown Funeral Chapel of Byrdstown.
