George Allen Cross
November 11, 1954 - December 18, 2008

BYRDSTOWN--George Allen Cross, 54, 5175 Turney Groce Road, Byrdstown, passed away December 18, 2008 at Overton County Nursing Home. He was a masonry worker.
He was born Nov. 11, 1954 in Pickett County the son of George Elmer Cross and Ruby Aldean (Lee) Cross and was of the Baptist faith, and a veteran serving in the Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Danny Cross; and niece, Melissa Daniels.
Surviving relatives include four sisters, Lois Hudson and husband, Jerry, Byrdstown; Mary Daniels and husband, Jackie; Patty Robbins and husband Tony; Cassie Evans and husband Bryce, all of Monroe; two brothers, Jimmy R. Cross and wife, Abbie, Hartford City, In.; Gary E. Cross, Muncie, In.; nieces, nephews, a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Dec. 20 at 1 p.m. from Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Randy Tompkins and Bro. Ricky Cross officiating. Burial was at Cross Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Jeff Tompkins, Jimmy Cross Jr., Rickey Cross, Joey Daniels, Steve Storie, Tony Robbins Jr., and Martin Evans.
Special care was provided by Brown Funeral Chapel of Byrdstown.

Fred Loyd Jones
June 14, 1937 - December 17, 2008

BYRDSTOWN--Fred Loyd Jones, 71, 3174 Ester Jones Road, Monroe, passed away Dec. 17, 2008 at Overton County Nursing Home. He was an industrial supervisor.
He was born June 14, 1937 in Pickett County, the son of Emery Jones and Tennie (Hicks) Jones. He was of the Christian faith and a veteran serving in the Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Tucker; and brother, Bob Jones.
Surviving relatives include wife, Elenor F. (Higgs) Jones, Monroe; daughter, Rhonda Kay Logan and husband, Gary, Livingston; son, Richard Paul Jones and wife Kymberly, Cincinnati, Oh.; sister, Geraldine Stortz and husband, Jack, Cincinnati, Oh; sister-in-law, Pat Jones, Monroe; five grandchildren: Richie Jones (Melissa); Maranda Bowen (Chris), Cincinnati, Oh; Lauren Williams, Monroe; Sierra and Brooklynn Reichert, Livingston; great granddaughter, Ava Bowen, Cincinnati, Oh.; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Dec. 20, at 6 p.m. from Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Randy Tompkins officiating. Cremation to follow funeral service. Special care was provided by Brown Funeral Chapel, Byrdstown.
