Ballard F. Clark
February 20, 1934 - January 30, 2009

CINCINNATI, OH--Ballard F. Clark, 74, 5328 Delhill Dr., Cincinnati, Oh. and formerly of Pickett County, passed away Jan. 30, 2009 at Drake Center in Cincinnati. He was a machnist.
He was born Feb. 20, 1934 in Byrdstown, the son of Curtis Clark and Orpha (Easterly) Clark.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Stephen Clark; sister, Eula Garrett; six brothers: Oble, Ruble, Odell, Donald, Dallas and Allard Clark.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Gay Vincent and husband, Steve, Cincinnati, Oh.; Beverly Brafford and husband, Larry, Cincinnati; son, Curtis Clark and wife, Barbara, Cincinnati; two sisters, Bula Masiongale, Pall Mall; Dora Clark, Cincinnati; 12 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Feb. 2, at 2 p.m. from Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Ricky Cross officiating. Burial was at Clark Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Curtis Clark, Curtis, Cletus and Thomas Schieders, Randy Garrett and Phil Masiongale. Special care was provided by Brown Funeral Chapel, Byrdstown.

Albert Beardsley
September 22, 1924 - January 28, 2009

COOKEVILLE--Albert Delbert Beardsley, 84, of Cookeville, died Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at NHC of Cookeville.
He was born Sept. 22, 1924 in Hazelton, ND to the late Delbert Lesley and Augusta (Morgan) Beardsley.
He was a resident of Glasgow, MT for close to 40 years and Olympia, WA for 33 years before moving to Cookeville in Nov. 2008.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II serving his country in Northern France and Central Europe.
He was a retired auto and aviation mechanic and former owner of Taylor-Smith Ford Tractor & Jeep Dealership in Glasgow, MT. He was active in the Lutheran Church, a former Boy Scout Leader, and a licensed pilot who loved to fly.
He is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Emy (Nordstrom) Beardsley (whom he married March 19, 1946 in Glasgow, MT); daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Howard Crawford of Columbia Falls, MT.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Albert Richard and Susan Beardsley, Byrdstown; Wayne Leroy and Lynn Beardsley of Kirkland, WA.; four grandchildren, Rodney Beardsley, Chad Beardsley, Angela Beardsley, and Jonathan Beardsley; three great grandchildren, Hunter Beardsley, Ryder Beardsley and Alan Beardsley; and his sister, Myrtle Becker, Bismarck, ND.
Interment services were held Jan. 30, 2009 at 11 a.m. (E.S.T.) at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, Cattanooga, Tn.

Elise (Manis) Phillips
August 17, 1927 - January 25, 2009

BYRDSTOWN--Elise (Manis) Phillips, 81, 265 Smyrna Rd., Byrdstown, passed away Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a retired desk clerk at Star Point Resort.
She was born August 17, 1927 in Pickett County the daughter of Benton Manis and Lona (Pritchard) Manis. She lived most of her life in Pickett County and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Byrdstown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman; and son, Benny.
Surviving relatives include daughter, Norma “Cookie” Jones and husband, Harlan, Byrdstown; two sisters, Opal Skeen, Byrdstown; Leva Hardcastle, Arkansas; two grandchildren Lesia Martin and husband, Tim, Byrdstown; Lori Ledbetter and husband, Mickey, Allons, Tn.; five great grandchildren Tyler, Trent, Trey, Blake and Shaela; nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Jan. 28, 2009 at 10 a.m. from Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Dennis Stodghill and Bro. Ricky Cross officiating. Burial was at Vann’s Branch Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mickey Ledbetter, Steve Jolley, Steve Reagan, Tim Martin, Larry Jolley and Trent Martin.
Special care was provided by Brown Funeral Chapel of Byrdstown.
