BYRDSTOWN--Ivan Troy
“Joe” Sells, 85, Sells Road,
Byrdstown, passed away April
3, 2009 at Livingston Regional
Hospital. He was a farmer.
He was born June 25, 1923
in Pickett County the son of
Carlos Lee Sells and Lula
Mae (Hassler) Sells. He lived
all of his life in Pickett County
and was a member of the Midway
Christian Church, a veteran
of WWII serving in the
Navy. He served in Saipan,
Japan and Guam.
He was preceded in death
by his parents; and two brothers,
Willie Eugene Sells and
Travis Vernon Sells.
Surviving relatives include
wife, Alva Allene (Flowers)
Sells, Byrdstown; son, Troy
Mike Sells and wife, Shirley,
Byrdstown; three sisters,
Norma Dean Halfacre and
husband, Howard, Norfolk,
Va.; Ina Ruth Cross and husband
Jerry, Byrdstown; Lois
Gaye King, Ashville, NC; two
brothers, Gordon Sells, Byrdstown;
Billy Oren Sells, Richmond,
In.; two grandchildren
Angie Pickens and husband,
Chad; Cristy Beaty and husband,
Kelvin; three great
grandchildren Hannah Nicole
Beaty, Tyrus Joe Beaty; and
Jordan Allan Pickens.
Funeral services were held
April 6 at 2 p.m. from Brown
Funeral Chapel with Bro.
Randall Sidwell and Bro. Jeff
Amonett officiating. Burial
was at Lovelady-Sims Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Steve
and Jerry Reagan, Jerry Paul
Flowers, Kelvin Beaty, James
Gunter and Greg Cross. Honorary
pallbearers were Roger
Sells and Jason Huddleston.
Special care was provided by

Cooper Rd., McMinnville, Tn.
and a former resident of Albany,
Ky. passed away April
2, 2009 at Wayne County Hospital
in Monticello, Ky. He
was a livestock dealer.
He was born July 16, 1930
in Pickett County, the son of
Carlos and Mae (Mullins)
Logan. He lived most of his
life in Albany, Ky. and was a
member of the
Church of
Christ in
McMinnville.
He was a veteran
of the Korean
War
serving with
the Marine
Corp. and had
been awarded
the Purple
Heart.
He was preceded in death
by his parents; wife, Elizabeth
Logan; and brother, Donald
Logan.
Surviving relatives include
daughter, Neysa Logan,
Whitwell, Tn.; two sons,
Jimmy Logan and wife,
Vickie; and Tony Logan and
wife, Penny; both of Albany;
two sisters, Estelle Teel and
Oradean Logan, both of New
Castle, In.; brother, Gene
Logan, New Castle; four
grandchildren, two great
grandchildren, nieces,
nephews, other family members
and friends.
Funeral services were held
Sunday, April 5, at 2 p.m.
from Brown Funeral Chapel
in Byrdstown with Bro. Thurman
Bennett officiating. Burial
was at Memorial Hill
Cemetery in Albany. Active
pallbearers were Billy Anderson,
Larry Martin, Ronnie
Cowan, Danny Groce, Brandon
Adcock, and Bob Mayfield.
Honorary pallbearers
were Billy Gregory, John
Williams, Joe Hutchinson, Ed
Grissom and John Myers.

Nicholas. She attended
the Williams Chapel Church
and Wolf River Baptist
Church in Pickett County.
She was preceded in death
by her parents, daughter,
Amanda Marie Daniels; sister,
Dorothy Cross; two brothers,
Glenn and Duell
Nicholas.
Surviving relatives include
husband, Joe Daniels, Baxter,
Tn.; two sons: Garry Daniels
and wife, Julie, Albany, Ky.;
Terry Daniels and wife, Sandra,
Jackson County, Tn.; two
sisters, Beatrice Evans and
husband Eulis, Pall Mall;
Edith Davidson, Hagerstown,
In.; sister-in-law: Donna
Nicholas, Pall Mall; three
brothers: Oren Nicholas and
wife, Carol, Albany, Ky.;
Willie Nicholas and a wife,
Dorothy; Randy Nicholas and

April 4, at 1 p.m. from Brown
Funeral Chapel in Byrdstown
with Bro. Ricky Cross officiating.
Burial was at Williams
Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers
were Jerry Poore, Larry
Beaty, Jimmy King, Scott Storie,
Nicholas Poore and Lloyd
Morris. Special care was provided

Chapel in Byrdstown.
