Pickett County Commissioners November 17th meeting minutes

The Pickett County Commissioners met in regular session on November 17th. Present and presiding was the honorable Stephen Bilbrey, Chairman and Robert Lee, Clerk of the Court. Court was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Clerk Lee who turned the meeting over to Chairman Bilbrey. The invocation was given by Danny Dennis. The Pledge of Allegiance was given by all. All commissioners were present.
*Motion by Eddie Holt and seconded by Colan Huddleston to approve the agenda as amended. All ayes. Motion carried.
*Motion by William Gibson and seconded by Evan Wright to approve the minutes of the October 20th county court meeting. All ayes. Motion passed.
*Motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Kenny Tompkins to approve notary renewals for Lora Presley and James L. Richardson. All ayes. Motion approved.
*Motion by Danny Dennis and seconded by William Gibson to approve the bid from Southeastern Specialty Vehicle in the amount of $91,825.00 for a 2009 Dodge Ambulance. All ayes. Motion carried.
*Motion by William Gibson and seconded by Kenny Tompkins to authorize Stephen Bilbrey, County Executive, to execute a Deed of Conveyance to Kardol, Inc. and/or its designee or assignee pursuant to the terms of a Lease and Option Agreement dated December 29, 1998, and further authorized the County Executive to enter into an owner financing agreement for the fifty thousand ($50,000) dollar purchase payment due under said instrument so long as the authorization does not exceed 24 calendar months and the interest rate is not less than five percent (5%) per annum. All ayes. Motion passed.
*Other business discussing the speed limit on Hwy. 111, Mr. Bilbrey presented a letter received from the Regional Traffic Engineer advising him that they will study this location and notify him of the results of the said study.
*No action taken in proposal made by Ronald Beaty to sell his building known as Ron's Body Shop to the Pickett County Government.
*Motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Wayne Clayborn to adjourn until the next scheduled county court meeting on Dec. 15th at 6:00 p.m. in the community room of the library. Court then adjourned.
