Town of Byrdstown receives security system donation

Town of Byrdstown receives security system donationThe Town of Byrdstown received a surveillance system donated by Jason Ervin of J&K Computers for the Byrdstown City Park concession building. Concessions are sold out of the building by both the Pickett County Youth League and Pickett County High School Softball Team to help the costs associated with each program.
According to City Mayor Chris Thompson, due to several break-ins, the building has been fixed with a reinforced door and steel cover for the concession window. Ervin who is sponsoring a youth league team, wanted to help deter vandalism by offering to install security cameras and establish a 24-hour surveillance system. With the recent grant money through Tennessee's Three Star Program, the Town was able to provide a computer flat screen TV to aid with the security system.
