County signs contract with TDOT for collection of litter and trash on county roads

The Pickett County Commissioners met in regular session on May 19, 2014. Present and presiding was the honorable Lana Rossi, Chairman and Robert Lee, Clerk of the Court. Court was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Clerk Lee who turned the meeting over to Chairman Rossi. The invocation was given by Johnie Neal. The Pledge of Allegiance was given by all. All commissioners were present, except Doug Manis was absent.
The following was action taken at the meeting:
•Approved a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Becky Matheny to approve the agenda as amended. All ayes. Motion Carried.
•Carried a motion by Doris Estes and seconded by Lowell Winningham to approve minutes from April 21, 2014 county court meeting. All ayes, motion carried.
•Passed a motion by Tony Beaty and seconded by Eddie Holt to approve April 2014 Monthly reports for County General, Debt Service and Solid Waste Funds for FY 2013/2014. All ayes. Motion Carried.
•Approved a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Tony Beaty to approve New Notary: Emily Masiongale Pierce. All ayes. Motion Carried.
•Carried a motion by Tony Beaty and seconded by Darrell Garrett to approve Resolution #13/14-12, authorizing the county executive to execute a contract between the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation and Pickett County Government. All ayes. Motion Carried.
•Passed a motion by Becky Matheny and seconded by Tony Beaty to approve County General Budget Amendment #5 for FY 13/14, as presented by Johnie Neal, County Executive. All ayes. Motion Carried.
•Approved a motion by Becky Matheny and seconded by Eddie Holt to put out on bids for Prisoner Meals. Bid specifications can be picked up in the county executive's office. Sealed bids must be turned in by June 13, 2014 by 12 p.m. All ayes. Motion Carried.
•Carried a motion by Tony Beaty and seconded by Eddie Holt to put out on bids for Gas for all county buildings. Bid specifications can be picked up in the county executive's office. Sealed bids must be turned in by June 13, 2014 by 12 p.m. All ayes. Motion Carried.
•Other Business
A) Mrs. Robin Bradley to address the commission concerning Taylor Ford Road - No Action Taken.
B) Dustin Mitchell - County mowing - No Action Taken
•Motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Becky Matheny to adjourn until the next regular county court meeting scheduled for June 16, 2014 at 6 p.m. in the community room of the Pickett County Library without roll call.
