Several bids accepted at Pickett County Board of Education meeting

The Pickett County Board of Education met Monday, June 9, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the office of the director of schools with the following members present: John Reagan, Chairman, Jerry Mitchell and Jimmy Storie. Terrell Garner was absent.
•Motion by Jimmy Storie seconded by Jerry Mitchell to adopt the agenda and approve the minutes from the May 12, 2014 meeting. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Motion John Reagan seconded by Jimmy Storie to approve policies - second reading: #5.501 Complaints and Grievances and #6.411 Student Wellness. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Motion by Jimmy Storie seconded by Jerry Mitchell to approve the following:
•Federal Projects Fund budgets and any necessary amendments and/or addendums for 2014-2015 as approved by the Tennessee Sept. of Education or State of Tennessee.
•To give the Director of Schools the authority to adjust line items within different categories of the budget.
•To approve the Executive Committee's decision to approve the 2014-2015 General Purpose Fund budget.
•To approve the Executive Committee's decision to approve the 2014-2015 Cafeteria Fund budget.
•To approve the LEA Compliance Report for 2013. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Motion by John Reagan seconded by Jimmy Storie to accept the bid from Tri-County Propane for propane gas for 2014-2015. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Motion by Jerry Mitchell seconded by Jimmy Storie to accept the bid from Larry Brown for trash pick-up for 2014-2015. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Motion by Jimmy Storie seconded by John Reagan to give Director of Schools the authority to take and open bids for the removal of the portable building and Quonset hut located behind the high school. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Motion by Jimmy Storie seconded by Jerry Mitchell to adjourn. All ayes. Motion carried.
