Pickett Commissioners March 9th meeting held

The Pickett County Commissioners met in regular session on March 9. Present and presiding was Stephen Bilbrey, Chairman and Robert Lee, Clerk of the Court. Court was called to order at 6 p.m. by Clerk Lee who turned the meeting over to Chairman Bilbrey. The invocation was given by Stephen Bilbrey. The Pledge of Allegiance was given by all. All commissioners were present. The following is action taken at that meeting:
•Passed a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Misty Dowdy to approve the agenda as presented. All ayes.
•Carried a motion by Evan Wright and seconded by Kenny Tompkins to approve the minutes of the February 16, 2009 county court meeting. All ayes.
•Approved a motion by Deborah Garrett and by Danny Dennis to approve FY2008/2009 Budget Amendment #2, County General Fund as submitted by Stephen Bilbrey, County Executive. All ayes.
•Carried a motion by William Gibson and seconded by Colan Huddleston to approve FY 2008/2009 Budget Amendment #3, Industrial Park Fund as submitted by Stephen Bilbrey, County Executive. All ayes.
•Approved a motion by Deborah Garrett and seconded by Alice Storie to approve FY 2008/2009 Budget Amendment #4, Drug Control Fund as submitted by Stephen Bilbrey, County Executive. All ayes.
Passed a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Evan Wright to approve Resolution Number 08/09-13. This is a resolution concerning contributions to various organizations for the fiscal year 2008/2009 for the Pickett County Highway Department, on the first of two readings. All ayes.
Carried a motion by William Gibson and seconded by Kenny Tompkins to set April 18, 2009 as Keep Pickett County Clean Day and a Free Dump Day at the Pickett County Landfill, no commercial haulers or tires. All ayes.
Approved a motion by Misty Dowdy and seconded by Deborah Garrett to approve a donation to the Pickett County Girls Basketball team in the amount of $500 to help with expenses for the team going to the State Tournament. All ayes.

•Carried a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Evan Wright to adjourn until regular meeting on April 20, 2009 at 6 p.m. in the community room of the Pickett County Library without roll call.
