Pickett fugitive in custody after being named to Most Wanted List

Pickett County Sheriff’s
Department contacted the
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation
for assistance for a
local registered sex offender
who was wanted for rape and
assault.
Lonnie Calvin Storie, 55, of
Stepp Gap Rd., allegedly
raped and assaulted a woman
in Pickett County on March
24th and was considered to be
on the run.
The TBI added Storie to its
list of Top Ten most wanted
fugitives Monday, April 6th,
due to being charged with another
sexual offense. According
to a TBI press release,
Storie was caught in Nashville
later that evening while
loading his tractor trailer before
heading to Wisconsin.
He was booked in Metro jail
and is currently being held in
Pickett County Jail waiting
on arraignment with bond of
$500,000 for the rape charge
and $1,500.00 for the assault.
Storie is a registered violent
sex offender in Tennessee
for an Aggravated Sexual Battery
conviction in 1994 and an
Attempted Rape conviction in
1995.
He also has criminal history
that included Reckless
Endangerment, Evading Arrest
and Driving Under the
Influence.
