Multiple break-ins to vacation homes
Pickett County Sheriff's Department
was notified on April
17th of a break-in at a vacation
home located in community
of Boys Island.
According to Pickett County
Deputy Billy Hammock, when
the homeowners had came in
to their vacation home they
found the garage door had
been kicked in and items were
missing. The goods stolen included
rugs, furniture, appliances
with a value of around
$18,000. Deputy Hammock
decided to check other homes
located nearby and found at
least eight other homes to
have been burglarized.
The homeowners were notified
and five of the home owners
have claimed damage and
items stolen with a total value
of around $80,000 and that
number is expected to be even
higher.
The Pickett County Sheriff's
Department is looking for
any information that could
help locate a suspect in these
burglaries. If you know of any
