Pickett Grand Jury returns attempted murder charge

The Pickett County Grand
Jury met on April
27th and returned an
indictment on Jesse
Phillips, 21, 520 W.
Main Street, Byrdstown,
for attempted
first degree murder.
The indictment is a
result from an incident
in Static on October
31st, 2008 where
Phillips allegedly beat
Glen Vanderbilt of Albany.
According to the report,
Vanderbilt sustained major
injuries to his head and was
flown to Erlanger
where he stayed in
critical condition for
an unspecified amount
of time.
Pickett County
Sheriff's Department
arrested Phillips on
Friday, May 1st.
He is currently
being held on
$100,000 bond at
Overton County Justice
Center and is awaiting his
criminal court date of July
22nd.
