Dangerous meth lab found in apartment

Pickett County Sheriff's Department discovered
a meth lab on Saturday, June 27th.
According to the report, deputies served an arrest
warrant for violation of probation on Richard
Bailey, 40, 2963 Moodyville Road, and during a
search of the property found a small meth lab.
A meth clean up crew was called in from
Knoxville to properly dispose of the chemicals.
DEA Clan Certified Officer Chico Conner was advised
by the clean up crew that the dangerous
chemicals used in this meth manufacturing were
some of the worst they had found.
The meth lab was discovered in the apartment
building off of Baileys Moodyville Cash Store.
The building is quarantined until the contamination
levels of the contents are surveyed by a DEA
agency.
Richard Bailey is being charged with violation of
probation from previous charges, possession of a
schedule II controlled substance for the purpose of
resale.
Other charges are pending and will be presented
to the next regular scheduled Pickett County Grand
Jury.
