Storie pleads guilty to attempted rape

A Pickett County sex offender
plead guilty to attempted
rape before Judge
Leon Burns, Jr., last week.
According to the court
records, Lonnie Calvin Storie,
56, Stepp Gapp Rd., received
a suspended sentence of ten
years and will be supervised
by a probation officer employed
by Tennessee Board of
Probation during that time.
He also must register with
the Tennessee Sexual Offender
Registration and will
be classified as a violent sexual
offender. He will be subject
to community supervision
for life upon the expiration of
his ten year sentence.
Storie was charged with
rape and assault in March
and was considered to be on
the run when the Tennessee
Bureau of Investigations became
involved in his capture.
The TBI placed Storie on
their list of Top Ten most
wanted fugitives and he was
captured in Nashville the
same day.
Assistant District Attorney
General Owen Burnett stated
to the PRESS, “Based on
evaluations of the strengths
and weaknesses of the case
against Mr. Storie, I believe
the terms of the plea are a
fair resolution of this case.”
