Successful Fundraiser will allow veteran to attend ceremony

A fundraiser was held last Saturday at PCK-8 for Pickett County resident Murray Schrier. Mr. Schrier is being honored for his service to our country with an awards presentation at the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum in Savannah, Georgia on Veterans Day, November 11th.
This fundrasier, along with the help of statewide DAV fundraisers, helped generate around $3,000 to cover costs of the trip for gas, lodging, and catering.
Special thank you to the Hull York Chapter 5 DAV, the DAV Auxillary, Caney Fork Band, Cross Brothers Band, Pickett County Board of Education. Thanks to the business for their donations and to everyone for their support.
If you would like to know more about the presentation to honor Veteran Schrier, call Pickett County Care and Rehab at 864-3162 and ask for Mechelle Beaty or Angie McAllister.
