Elisha Cummings Walk for cure set for Oct .10th

Hi, my name is Elisha Cummings. I am 10 years old and a 4th grader at Pickett County K-8 School.
We are having the 4th annual Elisha Cummings Walk for Cure at the Pickett County K-8 School on Saturday, Oct. 10. Registration will start at 7:30 a.m. and the walk will begin at 8:00 a.m. at the gymnasium.
This walk is to raise money to find a cure for Juvenile Diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is a devastating, sometimes deadly disease that affects millions of people-a huge percentage of them being children. Many think Type 1 Diabetes can be controlled by insulin. While insulin keeps people with Type 1 Diabetes alive it is NOT a CURE. Besides the daily challenges of living with Type 1 Diabetes, there are many severe, sometimes fatal complications caused by the disease.
So I am asking you my friends, family, and many dedicated supporters to come out and walk for a cure on Oct. 10, at the Pickett County K-8 School.
We will have T-shirts on sale for $10.00 each or you can get one the day of the walk.
There will be individual walkers for a fee of $10.00 which includes a free t-shirt. There will also be team walkers for a fee of $25 and 3 free t-shirts. For more informa
