Commissioners Meeting

The Pickett County Commissioners met in regular session on January 18, 2010. Present and presiding was the Honorable Stephen Bilbrey, Chairman and Robert Lee, Clerk of the Court. Court was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Clerk Lee who turned the meeting over to Chairman Bilbrey. The invocation was given by Danny Dennis. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given by all. All commissioners were present except for Evan Wright. The following preceding were had and entered on the court minutes as wit:
•Passed a motion by Misty Dowdy and seconded by Penny Russell to approve the agenda as presented. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Carried a motion by Kenny Tompkins and seconded by Colan Huddleston to approve the minutes of the December 14, 2009 county court meeting. All ayes. Motion carried.
At that time Evan Wright entered the meeting.
•Approved a motion by Alice Storie and seconded by Kenny Tompkins to approve Notary: Elainea Ann Conner. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Carried a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by William Gibson to approve 2nd Quarter FY 2009/2010 Quarterly Reports for the County General, Debt Service and Solid Waste Funds as submitted by Stephen Bilbrey, County Executive. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Passed a motion by Kenny Tompkins and seconded by Eddie Holt to approve the Budget Amendment #1 FY 2009/2010 County General Fund as submitted by Stephen Bilbrey, County Executive. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Approved a motion by Danny Dennis and seconded by William Gibson to delete Big Hollow Spur Road as a county road as submitted by Jimmy Cope, Road Superintendent. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Passed a motion by William Gibson and seconded by Misty Dowdy to approve Lakeway Drive as a county road as submitted by Mr. Jimmy Cope, Road Superintendent. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Carried a motion by Kenny Tompkins and seconded by Deborah Garrett to approve Lakeway Lane as a county road as submitted by Mr. Jimmy Cope, Road Superintendent. All ayes. Motion carried.
Approved a motion by Wayne Clayborn and seconded by Penny Russell to approve lakeway West as a county road as submitted by Mr. Jimmy Cope, Road Superintendent. All ayes.

Passed a motion by Alice Storie and seconded by Eddie Holt to approve Lakeway East as a county road as submitted by Mr. Jimmy Cope, Road Superintendent. All ayes. Motion carried.
To Approve County Road
Carried a motion by Deborah Garrett and seconded by Kenny Tompkins to approve lakeway Scenic as a county road as submitted by Mr.Jimmy Cope, Road Superintendent. All ayes. Motion carried.
To Approve Inventory List
Approved a motion by Misty dowdy and seconded by Eddie Holt to approve 2010 Highway Department Inventory List as submitted by Mr. Jimmy Cope, Road Superintendent. All ayes. Motion carried.
To Approve County Road List
Passed a motion by Evan Wright and seconded by Danny Dennis to approve 2010 county road List as submitted by Mr. Jimmy Cope, road Superintendent. All ayes. Motion carried.
To Approve Payment
Carried a motion by William Gibson and seconded by Kenny Tompkins to approve Logic payment for workman comp lawsuit dated back in the period of 1996-2000 in the amount of $3279.39 (this is with a 4 discount). All ayes. Motion carried.
Other Business
A. Discuss Regional Jail Meeting January 19, 2010, 1:30 p.m. Pickett County Library
To Adjourn
Carried a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Penny Russell to adjourn until the next scheduled county court meeting on February 15, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the community room of the Pickett County library without roll call.
