Byrdstown Medical Center welcomes Dr. James Tompkins
Dr. James P. Tompkins will be joining the staff of Byrdstown Medical Center on March 3rd and will be providing patients with full service family medicine including Pediatrics. "I am so anxious for him to begin working and look forward to him being a part of the community he was raised in," said BMC's Dr. Larry Mason.
Dr. Tompkins graduated from Pickett County High School in 1998 and received a chemistry degree in 2002 at Tennessee Technological University.
He attended James H. Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN where he received his Doctor of Medicine degree in 2006.
He completed his residency in Family Medicine at University of Tennessee Medical Center in 2010 and is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and American Academy of Family Physicians.
"I am really looking forward to taking care of the people in Byrdstown and surrounding communities, it is truly an honor and privilege to be back in my home town," said Dr. Tompkins.
Dr. Tompkins resides in Pickett County with his wife Khristin along with daughters Kaylee and Emma and is the son of Kendall and Joyce Tompkins of Byrdstown.
