Pickett Democratic Caucus results

The Pickett County Democratic Caucus was held at the Pickett County K-8 February 12th.
No official attendance record was taken at the caucus, but it is believed that around 300 people voted.
The unofficial contested results for sheriff were Eric Pierce with the win of 206 votes against Joe Amonett with 81 votes.
In the contested Register of Deeds position Jim Bob Beaty won with 160 votes, Larry Johnson 84 votes and Kay Griffin 50.
The nominees for the Democratic offices not contested are: Pickett County Executive-Stephen Bilbrey, County Court Clerk-Charlie Lee, Road Superintendent-Joe Rich, Circuit Court Clerk-Tim Martin, First District County Commissioner-Larissa Buck, Second District County Commissioners Deborah Garrett and Lana Rossi, Third District David Beaty and Justin Beaty.
These Democratic nominees will face the winners from the Republican Primary which will be Tuesday, May 4th, in the August 5th general election.
A complete list of the qualifying county candidates will be published in next week's edition of the PRESS.
