Gibson signs with Roane State

Gibson signs with Roane StatePickett County High School Senior Kayla Gibson has signed a scholarship to continue her education and basketball career at Roane State Community College.
Roane State Head Coach Monica Boles is extremely excited and honored to welcome Kayla as the latest addition to the Roane State Program. She said that Kayla is a very smart and hardworking player who sees the floor well and is willing to do the little things. She is a great passer and can also shoot the ball well from the outside.
Boles said that Kayla is not afraid to take a charge and anticipates well, which puts her in the right place at the right time.
Kayla was on the District 7A All Tournament team and Region 4A All Tournament team while a Senior at PCHS.
"She is a hardworking ballplayer and will be greatly missed," said PCHS Head Coach Brent Smith.
Kayla plans to major in Nursing and Education at Roane State.
