Pickett Board of Education awards tenure to six teachers

The Pickett County Board of Education met Monday, April 12, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the office of the director of schools with the following members present: Jerry Mitchell, chairman, Terrell Garner, John Reagan and Jimmy Storie.
Carried a motion by Terrell Garner seconded by John Reagan to adopt the agenda and approve the minutes from the March 8, 2010 meeting. All ayes. Motion passed.
Passed a motion by Jerry Mitchell seconded by Jimmy Storie to award tenure to Cynthia Sells. All ayes. Motion passed.
Approved a motion by Terrell Garner seconded by John Reagan to award tenure to Matt Walker. All ayes. Motion passed.
Carried a motion by Jimmy Storie seconded by Jerry Mitchell to award tenure to Rebekah Cooksey. All ayes. Motion passed.
Passed a motion by Terrell Garner seconded by John Reagan to award tenure to Ryan Aldridge. All ayes. Motion passed.
Approved a motion John Reagan seconded Terrell Garner to award tenure to Melissa Rhule. All ayes. Motion passed.
Carried a motion by Jimmy Storie seconded by John Reagan to award tenure to Billy Garrett. All ayes. Motion passed.
Passed a motion by Jerry Mitchell seconded by Terrell Garner to approve Testing Code of Ethics-second reading. All ayes. Motion passed.
Approved a motion by Jimmy Storie seconded by John Reagan to approve Restraint Policy-second reading. All ayes. Motion passed.
Carried a motion by John Reagan seconded by Terrell Garner to give the director of schools the authority to adjust line items within the different categories of the budget. All Ayes. Motion passed.
Passed a motion by Jerry Mitchell seconded by Jimmy Storie to approve textbook adoption. All ayes. Motion passed.
Approved a motion by Jimmy Storie seconded by John Reagan to approve the No Child Left Behind Project and any necessary amendments or addendums for the 2010-2011 school year. All ayes. Motion passed.
Carried a motion by Jimmy Storie seconded by Jerry Mitchell to approve the senior trip as recommended by Principal Rebecca Wallin. All ayes. Motion passed.
Passed a motion by John reagan seconded by Terrell Garner to adjourn. All ayes. Motion passed.
