Pickett County Veteran Service Officer honoredThe Hull York Chapter 5 DAV honored Pickett County Veteran Service Officer Earl Claborn during the Pickett County Commissioners meeting Monday, April 19th.
He was recognized for his dedication and outstanding service he provides for all veterans and their families. Currently there are around 430 veterans living in Pickett County. Last year, Claborn helped get 1.5 million to those veterans in claims that were paid directly to them. In addition to that money, they also receive health insurance, money for continued education and medical benefits.
"We just wanted to honor a man who has done so much for us veterans. He has helped us have a better quality of life, words cannot express the gradititude we have for him." said Hull York Commander Glenn Williams.
If you are a veteran and have not applied for benefits contact Earl at 931-864-8240.
