Commissioners April 19th meeting

The Pickett County Commissioners met in
regular session on April 19th. All commissioners
were present except for Alice Storie
who was absent.
•Motion by Misty Dowdy and seconded by
Evan Wright to approve the agenda as presented.
All ayes, motion carried.
•Approved motion by Colan Huddleston
and seconded by William Gibson to approve
the minutes of the March 15 county court
meeting. All ayes, motion carried.
•Carried motion by Wayne Clayborn and
seconded by Kenny Tompkins to approve Notary:
Barbara J. Reeder and Brenda Murphy.
All ayes, motion carried.
•Motion by William Gibson and seconded
by Deborah Garrett to approve FY 2009/2010
3rd Quarter reports for county General, Debt
Service and Solid Waste Funds as submitted
by Mr. Stephen Bilbrey, County Executive.
All ayes, motion carried.
Alice Storie entered the meeting.
•Passed motion by Deborah Garrett and
seconded by Danny Dennis to approve FY
2009/2010 Budget Amendment #2, County
General fund as submitted by Mr. Stephen
Bilbrey, County Executive. All ayes except
Alice Storie who passed, motion carried.
•Motion by Wayne Clayborn and seconded
by Eddie Holt to approve FY 2009/2010
Budget Amendment #3, Drug Control fund as
submitted by Mr. Stephen Bilbrey, County
Executive. All ayes, motion carried.
•Carried motion William Gibson and seconded
by Evan Wright to approve FY
2009/2010 Budget Amendment #4, Solid
Waste fund as submitted by Mr. Stephen Bilbrey,
County Executive. All ayes, motion carried.
•Passed motion by Colan Huddleston and
seconded by Kenny Tompkins to release Jennifer
Anderson, Pickett County Trustee of
the following taxes:
(1) 2008 Taxes filed for collection-$41,992.22
(2) 2008 Changes in Assessment Lost-
$5,189.44
(3) 2008 Deleted Taxes-$4,178.54
Total of $51,360.20
All ayes, motion carried.
•Carried motion by Deborah Garrett and
seconded by Danny Dennis to approve Reso-
lution Number 09/10-12. This is a resolution
concerning to various organizations for the
fiscal year 2009/2010 for the Pickett County
Highway Department. This being the second
and final reading. All ayes, motion carried.
Motion by Danny Dennis and seconded by
Wayne Clayborn to accept the bid from
Nafeco in the amount of $27,906.30 for complete
sets of turn-out gear for the fire department.
This turn-out gear is being purchased
with FEMA Fire Grant funds. This being
lowest and/or best bid. All ayes, motion carried.
Passed motion by Colan Huddleston and
seconded by Misty Dowdy to approve FY
2009/2010 Budget Amendment,
Highway/Public Works fund as submitted by
Mr. Jimmy Cope, Road Superintendent. All
ayes, motion carried.
Carried motion by William Gibson and
seconded by David Beaty to approve Morton
Lane as a county road as submitted by Mr.
Jimmy Cope, Road Superintendent. All ayes,
motion carried.
Other discussion of business included
Glen Williams with DAV, and Tom Allen.
Deborah Garrett left the meeting at this time
of 6:50 p.m.
Motion by William Gibson and seconded
by Alice Storie to haul off old air conditioner
units at the old shirt factory building to sell
for scrap then turn monies into the Trustee's
office. All ayes, motion carried.
Passed motion by Colan Huddleston and
seconded by Evan Wright to adjourn until
the next scheduled court meeting on May
17th at 6 p.m. in the community room of the
Pickett County Library without roll call.
