Pickett Board of Education June 10 meeting


The Pickett County Board of Education met Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the office of the director of schools with the following members present: John Reagan, Chair-man, Frank Capps, Terrell Garner and Jimmy Storie.
Motion by Terrell Garner seconded by Jimmy Storie to adopt the agenda and approve the minutes from the May 12, 2008 meeting. All ayes. Motion passed.
Motion by Frank Capps seconded by Jimmy Storie to convey by Quit Claim Deed to Pickett County Government the property lying in the 4th District recorded in Deed Book 3 page 120 and tax map 62 parcel 28.00 in the assessor of property’s office. The property is now known as Bolestown Commun-ity Center and Fire Hall. All ayes. Motion passed.
Motion by Jimmy Storie seconded by John Reagan to accept the bid from Billy K. Russell for tires. Terrell Garner-no, Frank Capps-yes, Jimmy Storie-yes, John Reagan-yes. Motion carried.
Motion by Terrell Garner seconded by Frank Capps to accept the trash pick up bid from Larry Brown for the 2008-09 school year. All ayes. Motion passed.
Motion by John Reagan seconded by Terrell Garner to give Vicki Crawford the authority to take and accept bids for food and food supplies for Food Service for the 2008-09 school year. All ayes. Motion passed.
Motion by Jimmy Storie seconded by Frank Capps to give Jane Cowan the authority to take and accept bids for the high school pictures and yearbook for 2008-09. All ayes. Motion passed.
Motion by John Reagan seconded by Terrell Garner to implement the mandatory personal finance course to seniors for a full years credit beginning with the 2008-09 school year. All ayes. Motion passed.
Motion by Frank Capps seconded by Jimmy Storie to approve the Differentiated Pay Plan as required by the state. All ayes. Motion passed.
Motion by Jimmy Storie seconded by Frank Capps to approve General Purpose Budget Amendment # 4 as presented by the director of schools. All ayes. Motion passed.
Motion by John Reagan seconded by Terrell Garner to approve the Federal Projects Budget Amendment as presented by the director of schools. All ayes. Motion passed.
Motion by Frank Capps seconded by John Reagan to approve Boys Basketball Camp at Harrodsburg, KY on June 12, 2008. All ayes. Motion passed.
Motion by Jimmy Storie seconded by Frank Capps to adjourn. All ayes. Motion passed.
