Pickett County Commissioners Sept. 20 Meeting

The Pickett County Commissioners met in regular session on September 20, 2010. Court was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Robert Lee, Clerk of the Court. The invocation was given by Johnie Neal. The pledge of Allegiance was given by all. All commissioners were present. The following preceding were had and entered on the court minutes as wit:
•Approved a motion by Lana Rossi and seconded by Eddie Holt to approve Johnie Neal, Chairman. All ayes, motion carried.
•Passed a motion by Eddie Holt and seconded by Colan Huddleston to approve Daniel Masiongale as Chairman Pro-Tem. All ayes, motion carried.
•Carried a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Darrell Garrett to approve the agenda as amended. All ayes, motion carried.
•Approved a motion by Eddie Holt and seconded by Kenny Tompkins to have a 10 minute recess to retrieve previous months minutes. All ayes, motion carried.
•Passed a motion by Eddie Holt and seconded by Colan Huddleston to approve the minutes of the August 16, 2010 and August 30, 2010 county court meeting. All voted except for Doug Manis and Daniel Masiongale who passed. Motion carried.
•Approved a motion by Daniel Masiongale and seconded by Doug Manis to approve Notaries: Christa Tompkins and Melissa Tompkins. All ayes, motion carried.
•Carried a motion by Eddie Holt and seconded by Terry Manis to approve committees as submitted:
Budget Committee: Edward Holt, Kenny Tompkins, Daniel Masiongale, Rebecca Matheny, Lana Rossi, Darrell Garrett.
Solid Waste Committee: Colan Huddleston, Lowell Winningham, Tony Beaty, Joe D. Harden, Terry Manis, Darrell Garrett.
Building and Maintenance Committee: Colan Huddleston, Doug Manis, Terry Manis, Joe D. Harden, Tony Beaty, Rebecca Matheny.
Emergency Service Committee: Lowell Winningham, Lana Rossi, Daniel Masiongale, Edward Holt, Doug Manis, Kenny Tompkins.
All ayes. Motion carried.
Other Business
A. 911 sign being down
B. First Responder Resolution
•Carried a motion by Eddie Holt and seconded by Kenny Tompkins to approve resolution to establish the First Responder Division of the Emergency Medical office. All ayes, motion carried.
C. Ambulance Repair
•Passed a motion by Tony Beaty and seconded by Joe Harden to put out on bid a remount for Pickett County Ambulance Service. Bids are to be returned into the Pickett County Executive by 2:00 p.m. on October 18, 2010. All ayes. Motion carried.
D. Marc Richardson's resignation from Beer Board
•Approved a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Tony Beaty to accept Marc Richardson's resignation from the Pickett County Beer Board. All ayes, except for Joe Harden who passed. Motion carried.
E. Sunset Marina Invoice
F. Opt Out On Building Codes
•Carried a motion by Joe Harden and seconded by Rebecca Matheny to pass resolution opting out in local Government Residential Building Permits. All ayes, motion carried.
•Approved a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Darrell Garrett to adjourn until the next scheduled county court meeting on October 18, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the community room of the Pickett County Library without roll call.
