Tavern owners arrested on drug charges

Tavern owners arrested on drug chargesOn Friday, October 8, Pickett County Sheriff Dana E. Dowdy received information from a confidential informant, which was enough to obtain a search warrant for the Whistle Stop Tavern, located in Static, Tennessee.
Upon execution of the search, the sheriff along with several officers, found bags of methamphetamine, an assortment of prescription pills and marijuana.
They also recovered two handguns and seized over $2,000.
Tavern owner Eric Scott Hutchins, 45, 9162 Highway 558, Albany, Kentucky, was charged with Possession of schedule II (Meth), III, IV, and VI Controlled Substance for Resale.
His wife, Donna Michelle Hutchins, 37, also of 9162 Highway 558, Albany, Ky. was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a schedule III, IV, and VI Controlled Substance for Resale.
“The case is still being investigated and other arrests have been made,” said Sheriff Dowdy.
