Pickett Care & Rehab receives $5,000 grant

The State of Tennessee has awarded grants of $5,000 each to 10 long term care facilities to aid them in developing programs, training staff, encouraging a more resident- centered atmosphere and brightening their environments.
Pickett Care & Rehabilitation Center was one out of the 10 picked for the grant. The grants are administered by the Tennessee Department Of Health. The funding, which was authorized by the General Assembly in 1999, comes from State civil monetary penalties collected from non-compliant nursing homes. Facilities are annually awarded a grant of $5,000 each. The Tennessee Edenizing Foundation d/b/a Tennessee Eden Alternative Coalition provides assistance and support to those facilities seeking to adopt culture change movement dedicated to eliminating loneliness, helplessness and boredom from long-term care institutions.
