Thompson donates parade winnings to Relay For Life

Thompson donates parade winnings to Relay For LifeIan Thompson won $200.00 for the "Best Overall" in the Byrdstown-Pickett County Christmas Parade this past Saturday.
His dad and mom, Chris and Crystal Thompson, suggested that it would be a good idea to donate the prize money to Relay For Life. At first Ian was a little upset because he had made big plans for the money. Then his parents explained to him that these group of people were trying to find a cure for cancer, and that cancer had been responsible for many deaths. Ian quickly replaced that frown with a cute little smile and forgot all the plans he had and gladly made the donation to Chairwoman Janet Huddleston. On the way to present Mrs. Huddleston with the check, Ian told his dad "I don't need this money, somebody else does." So like Ian we all need to think of those who are sick or less fortunate and remember the words of our Lord this Christmas Season or anytime of the year that it is more blessed to give, than to receive.
