Pickett Commissioners Dec.20 meeting

The Pickett County Commissioners met in regular session on December 20, 2010. Court was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Robert Lee, Clerk of the Court. The invocation was given by State Representative elect Kelly Keisling. The pledge of Allegiance was given by all. All commissioners were present. The following is action taken at that meeting:
•Carried a motion by Becky Matheny and seconded by Colan Huddleston to approve the agenda. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Approved a motion by Tony Beaty and seconded by Eddie Holt to approve the minutes of the November 15, 2010 county court meeting. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Passed a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Becky Matheny to approve notaries: Sarah McMahon and Notary Renewals: Janet C. Huddleston, Donna Anderson, Ernest R. Elder and Michelle Beaty. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Carried a motion by Tony Beaty and seconded by Lowell Winningham to approve Budget Amendment #11, County General Fund for Y 2010/2011 as presented by County Executive, Johnie Neal. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Approved a motion by Tony Beaty and seconded by Terry Manis to approve County Executive Johnie Neal to get front door repaired at the Pickett County Community Center and to obtain estimates on other repairs recommended by the Pickett County Building Committee. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Passed a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Eddie Holt to approve Pickett County High School to apply for a grant to purchase equipment to furnish the Ag. Center. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Carried a motion by Tony Beaty and seconded by Kenny Tompkins to approve Pickett County Sheriff's Department to apply for a grant to purchase new patrol cars. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Approved a motion by Eddie Holt and seconded by Darrell Garrett to approve Daniel Masiongale to join the Pickett County Extension Service Committee in place of Penny Russell for the remainder of the 2010-2012 term. All ayes except Daniel Masiongale passed. Motion carried.
•Passed a motion by Daniel Masiongale and seconded by Lowell Winningham to approve Colan Huddleston, Steve Reagan and Vicki Garner to be reappointed to the Pickett County Extension Service Committee for the 2010-2012 term. All ayes, except for Colan Huddleston passed. Motion carried.
•Carried a motion by Becky Matheny and seconded by Colan Huddleston to approve road Kiowa Basin to be transferred and convey unto Pickett County Highway Department, free of charge, right-of-way for a county and public road as presented by Jimmy Cope, Road Superintendent. All ayes, except for Joe Harden and Doug Manis passed. Motion carried.
•Approved a motion by Lana Rossi and seconded by Lowell Winningham to approve Budget Amendment #12, County General fund for FY 2010-2011 as presented by County Executive, Johnie Neal. All ayes. Motion carried.
Other Business
A. Discuss Sheriff's Department receiving a car that was donated to them - Dana Dowdy, Sheriff.
B. Resolution Ambulance Grant
•Carried a motion by Tony Beaty and seconded by Colan Huddleston to apply for a Community Development
Block Grant (CDBG) to assist the Pickett County Ambulance Service in the purchase of two new ambulances and four new heart monitors. All ayes. Motion carried.
C. Sell Old Cab and Chassis for Ambulance Service
Passed a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Darrell Garrett to accept offer from Select-Tech, Inc. in the amount of $4000.00 for 2003 Ford F-350 from the Pickett County Ambulance Service cab and chassis. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Approved a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Becky Matheny to adjourn until the next scheduled meeting on January 17, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the community room of the Pickett County Library without roll call.
