A business was destroyed due to a fire last Tuesday, May 10 at around 9 p.m. Byrdstown/Pickett County Volunteer Fire Department responded to Gator Ice, 248 Greenview Drive, owned by Carl Evans, and found the building in heavy smoke. According to the report, there were a few explosions in the building so the firefighters had to back off trying to contain the fire and keep the area safe.
