Pickett Care & Rehab kicks off intergenerational summer camp

Pickett Care & Rehab kicks off intergenerational summer campPickett Care & Rehab just kicked off an interactive youth summer camp aimed to help younger and older generations build relationships and have fun together.
The program allows employees of the home to bring their children to work with them during the summer months. The children participate in a wide range of educational and intergenerational activities, allowing them to interact with the residents at the home. Activities include art and science projects, and a daily “Learning Circle,” during which residents and children share their views on current issues.
Pickett Care & Rehab is one of 73 facilities operated by Louisville, Ky.-based Signature HealthCARE.
The camp program was launched in 2008 here at Pickett Care & Rehab. It has since been expanded to 10 Signature homes.
“This program has brought new life to the residents in our facilities and created many new relationships that continued even after the program ended,” said Angie McAllister, regional Quality of Life Coordinator for Signature.

A special THANK YOU to Steve Reagan for donating his time, tractor, & wagon for our hayride!
