Pickett Commissioners July 18th meeting

The Pickett County Commissioners met in regular session July 18, 2011. Present and presiding was the Honorable Johnie Neal, Chairman and Robert Lee, Clerk of the Court. Court was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Clerk Lee who turned the meeting over to Chairman Neal. The invocation was given by Johnie Neal. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given by all. All commissioners were present with the exception of Kenny Tompkins. The following is action taken at the meeting:
•Carried a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Eddie Holt to approve the agenda as presented. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Passed a motion by Tony Beaty and seconded by Lowell Winningham to approve the minutes of the June 20, 2011 regular county court meetings. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Approved a motion by Becky Matheny and seconded by Lana Rossi to approve the minutes of the June 27, 2011 special called meeting. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Carried a motion by Darrell Garrett and seconded by Lana Rossi to approve the minutes of the July 5, 2011 special meeting called meeting. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Passed a motion by Eddie Holt and seconded by Becky Matheny to approve Notary Renewals: Teresa Ann Lee, Barbara Mitchell and Erica L. Stockton. All ayes. Motion carried.
•Carried a motion by Eddie Holt and seconded by Lana Rossi to approve Budget Amendment #18 for County General Fund, FY 2010-2011 as submitted by Johnie Neal, County Executive. All ayes, except for Terry Manis and Lowell Winningham who passed. Motion carried.
•Approved a motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Darrell Garrett to approve Rebecca Harden's resignation from the beer board to be effective immediately. All ayes. Motion carried.
Other Business
A. Discuss Hotel/Motel Tax
B. Discuss cardboard at the Landfill and Kardol
C. Hand out Proposed Budgets for FY 2011/2012 for County General Fund, Drug Control Fund, Debt Service Fund, Highway Department Fund, General Purpose School Fund and Solid Waste Fund.
•Carried a motion by Eddie Holt and seconded by Colan Huddleston to adjourn until July 29, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. to discuss/vote on the Pickett County Proposed Budget for FY 2011/2012 in the community room of the Pickett County Library without roll call.
