Commissioners vote to purchase old doctor’s office

The Pickett County Commissioners met in regular session at 6 p.m. on Monday, December 19th. All commissioners were present. The following is action taken at that meeting.
•Approved motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Becky Matheny to approve the agenda as amended. All ayes, motion carried.
•Motion by Tony Beaty and seconded by Kenny Tompkins to approve minutes from the November 21st county court meeting. All ayes, motion carried.
•Carried motion by Doug Manis and seconded by Lowell Winningham to approve the following notaries: Brenda R. Sexton and Debra Smith. All ayes, motion carried.
•Passed motion by Tony Beaty and seconded by Colan Huddleston to approve Resolution #11/12-4, authorizing the Pickett County Executive and the Solid Waste Director to partner with advocates for the Upper Cumberland Inc. in their application for a USDA Solid Waste Management Grant. All ayes, motion carried.
•Approved motion by Doug Manis and seconded by Lowell Winningham to approve Lana Rossi to be paid by James Hailey and Associates for doing transcribing of the TDOT construction report diary. All ayes, except Lana Rossi who passed, motion carried.
•Motion by Tony Beaty and seconded by Lowell Winningham to approve Budget Amendment #1, Highway Department for FY 2011/2012 as presented by Jimmy Cope, Road Superintendent. All ayes, motion carried.
•Carried motion by Becky Matheny and seconded by Kenny Tompkins to approve Budget Amendment #3, County General Fund for FY 2011/2012 as presented by Johnie Neal, County Executive. All ayes, motion carried.
•Approved motion by Daniel Masiongale and seconded by Lana Rossi to approve Budget Amendment #2, Solid Waste Fund for FY 2011/2012 as presented by Johnie Neal, County Executive. All ayes, motion carried.
•Carried motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Becky Matheny to approve monthly reports for Solid Waste Fund, County General Fund and Debt Service Fund for the month of November 2011. All ayes, motion carried.
•Motion by Daniel Masiongale and seconded by Becky Matheny to delete Bear Paws Road as a county road as submitted by Jimmy Cope Road Superintendent. All ayes, motion carried.
•Passed motion by Kenny Tompkins and seconded by Tony Beaty to authorize Pickett County Executive Johnie Neal to make an offer of $40,000 for the old doctors office building. All ayes except Doug Manis who passed, motion carried.
•Motion by Colan Huddleston and seconded by Becky Matheny to adjourn until the next regular county court meeting on January 16th, 2012 at 6 p.m. in the community room of library.
