The Tennessee Court of the Judiciary has issued a public reprimand to Pickett County General Sessions Judge Ronnie Zachary. Their press release stated that Judge Zachary violated the Code of Judicial Conduct when he imposed punishment in a case that involved handcuffing a father to a son.
Judge Zachary admitted and indicated that the sentence was improper and that he intends to ensure all sentences imposed will be law appropriate under the law.
The PRESS has attempted to gain further information regarding the original case, but was unable to. It is believed that the incident was regarding a juvenile and the case was during the time Carl Evans was the sheriff approximately seven years ago.
Judge Ronnie Zachary has been Pickett County's General Sessions Judge since 1982.
